Probably be Ok but I'd drill it out a bit and re-tap with next size up and not worry about it. I think there is plenty of meat there to drill a bit larger.

I think the guy took off the U shaped connector on the bag's bracket and installed his rack..so you'd have to make you rack mounting tubes fit the bag bracket's tubes(inside or outside??) and add a set screw to hold them in place. After that make you rack anyway way you want..that one kind of looks ...

It is supposed to keep youir lights working if the main circuit dies..It can be removed if you jump some of the wires..like this.

Generally they start to whine when they are really bad..well before they can do any real damage to teh belts. But as long as you are there and $$ is not an issue..change them???

To clean slides you polish them with jeweler cloth or crocus cloth..scotch pads from the kitchen will work too. you have to polish the inside and outside of the tubes..with spring installed and caps upside down if you bounce the slide it shoudld return quickly to about a 1/4" or so from the edge of ...

You said you replaced the jets with new ones..aftermarket jets are known to be sized incorrectly..could be your issue..otherwise..as said..cable binding due to routing or gummed up inside, vacuum leaks, dirty/binding slide issues will cause rpm's to remain high.

NO..belts from Napa or Amazon, stator do a search here several brands have good reps.. while the engine is out clean/rebuild the carbs, clean the neutral switch, flush the water system, set the clutch tension, maybe pull the clutch and check it..for wear, check water pump for wiggle..replace if it w...

If you didn't pull the idle jet on the carbs, which are pressed in, you probably should, sitting 8 years they are most likely gummed up unless the PO drained and cleaned the carbs before he parked it..very unlikely...

I don't use dealers on older bikes because they don't work on them very often..If you don't mind traveling a bit D&D Discount motorcycles in Temps does great work, are honest and won't **** you over. when doing tires..rear oil should be change, reapply moly, check rubbers and bearings etc. they do a...

I vote plugged idle jets..yep spray some gas in the plenum have a fire ext. close by just in case..if she starts probably = clogged idle jets..if she sat for any lenght of time with gas in the carbs = clogged idle jets..
