Re: I have a wonderful wife

Me too! I took care of my F-i-l during his last months. After he passed, my wife asked if I would deal with the estate and not return to work. After this was done, my wife asked me to take her to the motorcycle dealership. We looked at a few bikes, Harley, Victory and then went over to the Honda de...

Re: How to Rid Seat of Mouse Urine Odor

I have a few too many cats. One of them has an issue with occasional marking & incontinence. We use Nature's Miracle and find that it works very well.

Re: Take Off Your Helmet??

I just came home from a couple of weeks in Norway. 24 hrs of daylight this time of year. I noticed that all riders, except small scooters, wore helmets, boots, gloves, protective pants and armored jackets. At a rest stop I talked to one of the bikers. His English wasn't great, but much better than ...

Re: Scala Rider Q2 - comms problem

Had a similar problem with my Q1 set. Scala helpdesk had me go to website and update both units and and make sure the settings were correct. This solved my problem. Good luck.

Re: fear

Hap2, considering what has happened and the anxiety you have, you might be suffering from a bit of PTSD. Although many people laugh this off and consider it a poor excuse for bad behavior, it is very real and can cause someone to relive events, become so anxious about an activity that they can no lo...

Re: Which model? (*IF* you were to replace your Wing)

HARP... They want it loud? hummmm.... is THAT there advertising? The salesman had a "hot" Harley babe drop by while I was looking at the bike to tell me how "chicks dig the roar of a Harley" and implied that I'd be able to pick up young ladies with a big loud Harley......in my wife's presen...

Re: Which model? (*IF* you were to replace your Wing)

When I was looking at bike before I purchased my 2013 Wing, I checked out a couple Victory's, but they seemed to be very cheaply made. Everything was soft plastic, loose, crash bars were flimsy and it didn't have passenger crash bars or a comfy seat for the Mrs.I also looked at a Harley Touring Ful...

Re: Does Anyone Have This BT Headset - Cardo PACKTALK

I purchased a Cardo Scala Team Rider Q1 set. I have been very happy with the product. No problems with noise when I was using the open face helmet - directional mic with windscreen keeps noise down and I have had no problems with voice activation, although I now use a full face helmet. The Team set...

Re: Protective Clothing

After many years working the ICU and caring for some of the survivors, I lean more towards the ATGATT philosophy. When I see a guy riding in shorts, a beater and flip flops without a helmet, I tend to think of it as natural selection.

Re: my 1st bike

Welcome! I had a bike when I was in my teens and 20s, but gave it up as I was too busy running a couple businesses. I bought a bike in my 40s. The Mrs. Gave me 2 conditions - that I always wear a helmet and I take the Ohio Basic Rider course. Very glad that I did both. The rider course will set you ...

Highway from NY to London

This would be the trip of a lifetime. Would be great if governments could get out of the way and make this happen. I would love to take 4 or 5 months and take this ride.

My mistake. I was under the impression that your sleep issues were an ongoing concern. If you only have trouble sleeping once or twice a year, it's not an issue. Write off my previous message , enjoy your retirement and more time with your Wing!

Re: Bluetooth Headsets

I've had no trouble with battery and charging issues. I usually get 3 days (9-10 hrs actual use) from each charge, unless I sync with radio or Spotify - then I still get at least 8 hrs. I don't really use Maps as I have navigation. That might be an issue as well. Again, mine were purchased last sea...

Re: Trouble Sleeping

Not everyone needs 8 hrs sleep. When I was much younger, I only needed 4-5 hours. Now I do best with seven. As we age, some of us need less sleep at night, but nap during the day. Many things can cause sleep disturbances - statins, Beta Blockers, Alpha blockers and Ace inhibitors are the main culpr...

Re: Bluetooth Headsets

I started with a Nolan Basic 2. The Mrs wasn't thrilled about being tethered to the bike careening down the highway at 70mph. I checked out a few option and finally found a Scala Team Rider Q1 set. I'm very happy with this set. It took me about 20 min to install units in both helmets. After I progr...

Re: How many of us are retired?

Retired last year. Still pick up PRN shifts in ICU on occasion, but those occasions are dwindling. I'm really enjoying being a house husband. As long as the house is clean and dinner is ready for the Mrs, she lets me ride all I want. I wish the weather would do the same. We have had a few discussio...

Flip Flops - Warning, graphic imagery

A old ED friend sent this to me. She hates MCs and think anyone that rides them is crazy. I've explained to her about ATGATT. She still considers crash victims without helmets to be natural selection.

Re: I miss my wing

I spent many years working in the ICU & Emergency Dept. I saw way too many injuries, particularly ones from which there is no recovery. I can't imagine riding any open vehicle without gear. I've really moved towards ATGATT. You can't get another brain or loved one.

I get it, but unfortunately, my dealer is waiting on parts and wouldn't have them until after the holiday. I'm a little nervous about riding in ice, snow & salt. Looks like I'll be waiting in line come spring. :(
