Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

I'm 72 and ride a 95' trike. Great for balance. BUT,.... getting to be just a tad harder to get on. But, once on, . . . it's all systems go.

Brake pedal extender

Is there an aftermarket brake "extender" that makes the pedal longer? I had one on my '86 that just slipped over the metal pedal and made it easier to reach with my foot. BUT,... it doesn't fit my '95. I have a hard time getting my foot around the crash bar and then bending my ankle so I can reach t...

Approximate cost?? I know labor to install them varies from one part of the country to another, so, just the cost of the pipes.

bike sat for 6 weeks, won't start

I was gone for 10 days early in the summer. Then came down with Lyme disease, of all things!!! So my '95 Goldwing sat for 6 weeks + without being started. When I finally checked it, it was out of gas. Put a couple of gallons in it, wouldn't start. Put a charger on it overnight, tried this a m, STILL...

Touring videos

I don"t know about the rest of you northern snow bound riders, but I have resorted to passing this "no riding" time by watching motorcycle touring videos on the internet. Even that is getting old. Come on spring!!!!

Yep. It's still my number one site to visit before I go to any other motorcycle site. I "read" the posts here, but generally "skim" the posts on other sites. ~PAT

Trike lights

The garage and mechanic that does the "wrenching" on my trtike has a sale going for "extra" LED lights for the trike. My question is; Yea or Nay on extra lighting. I am leaning toward having him do it. What do you guys think?

Re: GL1500 BATTERY REMOVAL

I got a "new" to me '95 Wing last year. It does have a voltmeter on it. Dumb question, I know, BUT what do I actually look for on the meter? How do I tell if the battery is getting low, or charging correctly, or what?? Are there certain numbers to look for?? Thanks for your info.

Awkward controls

At the beginning of the season i got a 1500. I am finding that the foot brake is extremely awkward for me to get at. For one thing, the crash bar is much longer than my 1200 and keeps getting in the way of my foot. Also, the placement of the pedal, fyrtherr back than my 1200, is very hard for my lon...

Re: flashers

Ok guys. Bought some contact cleaner at Home Depot, got home and sprayed the bejeebers out of the switch while working it. It eventually popped open and now all is well. I also gave a couple of squirts tp most of the other swtches as a preventative measure. Thanks for your input.

flashers

Geez, what a klutz!! While on a ride and making a turn the other day, I accidently "bumped" the flashers button. Now they WON'T turn off!! I guess this would be a case for contact cleaner, right? Meaning I have to make a run to Radio Shack, wherever I can find one now-a-days. So, Is WD40 really a NO...

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll look into an aftermarket indicator, but I am finding the more I ride the easier it is to figure out what gear I am in. Thanks again.

So, do I have to "count" the shifts each time I shift up or down so I know what gear I am in?
