Gone but not forgotten

Well the wife and I sold the 97 GL1500 SE today. It is going to a good home. Hopefully they will be able to put it back together and on the road again. I told them to call me when the get it all done. The 1500 has been apart for a rear brake line issue and most all of the plastic was off of it and a...

Re: trailer pulling with 1800

The wife and I are in the planning process to build a teardrop camper to pull behind our 1800. We have the trailer and some of the other materials needed already. The trailer is a 5x8 Aluminum from Northern tool. We will make the floor a little longer than the 8' and we will not be able to stand in ...

Re: toying

We are in the planning stages now and looking for a good well used 5x8 utility trailer to start the build. DITTOES here but not quite a Teardrop, something a bit bigger yet lighter. Teardrops ar...

WANTED : 5 x 8 Utility Trailer

I am ISO a 5x8 Utility trailer. Not really concerned with it's condition except it needs to have tires on it so I can tow it home. The cheeper the better. I am going to do a complete rebuild of the trailer.

Re: New driver safety question.

Tough decision to make, but I understand both sides. When I was growing up and I was 15 I wanted a motorcycle. My dad told me no way was I going to get one. I turned 16 and got my drivers license and bought me a car for my birthday (with mom and dad's blessings). I still wanted a motorcycle (as my f...

Re: Torque Wrench

Hey Roy,

Tom is correct 80 ft/lbs is the most you will need. Just make sure you get a good quality torque wrench. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for". If you need any manuals be sure to look them up on this site under the manual tab.

FS: Tow Pac for GL1500

I have a Tow Pac for a GL 1500 for sale. It has brake lights and turn signals wired. All bolt up hardware included. It is red in color. $2000.00 OBO

You can install this and have a trike, remove 3 bolts and have a regular GL1500 with two wheels. Takes about 15 minutes to remove.

FS: 1997 GL 1500 SE Project bike and extra parts

I have a 1997 GL1500 SE bike for sale. This will be a project bike for someone as it has most all of the plastic off. It also has the carbs pulled. The reason all this stuff is off is because of a rear brake hard line problem. The hard line has been installed except at the master cylinder. The maste...

Re: Headlight Modulator

I have the Kisan units on both my 1500 and my 1800. I would give it a two thumbs up. I have had cagers start to pull out in front of me until they see the headlights modulating. I have also had people pull over to the right when I come up behind them...guess they think I am a LEO...LOL. I have also ...

Re: tire slime

I would not use that stuff inside my motorcycle tires. I changed the tires on my 1500 and the PO had used that stuff and it took me over an hour per tire/rim to clean it up so a new tire would fit on properly. I change all my tires myself on my wings.

I don't think there is a reducer there. There is a ring gasket. Here is a parts fiche for you to look at:

Re: Riding with high beams on

I mostly ride with my high beams on during the day time due to the modulator that I have. When I turn on the low beams it turns off the headlight modulator. At night time I only use the high beams when there is no traffic in front of me. I do run the fog lights at night time. Helps light up the side...

Re: How many managed to get a ride in December 1st?

Rode around town and in the christmas parade. Total ride was only 30 miles but it was good. The wife and I will be riding tomorrow to North Alabama to our son's house. We will be taking some stuff up to them so I have to hook up the trailer behind the wing. Should be a good day of riding...... :D

I think you just have to twist and pull gently on those to get them out.
