Re: Ham radio licensees?

It seems to me that there are a large number of Goldwing owners who are also amateur radio operators. Quite a few people have their call signs tagged on their message postings...and I've seen some plastered across the back of their bikes, as well! Listening to some of the conversations on the radio...

$23.14 counting tax and shipping for me.

Not a bad deal, thanks. I needed one for my lawn mower.

Re: rain and windshield

I use a jigsaw when I cut mine down. Mask off inside and out. Draw your pattern, fine toothed blade, slack in cord, make cut. Let the saw go at its own pace. Not too fast or slow. After cutting sand with drywall sponge unless it's really rough then you may need to start with coarse paper.

IDK but I would pop out the left faring pocket and look under there. That's where it was always located before the 12's came out.

Re: rain and windshield

Lower the height of the windshield so you can see over it. It does not make too much sense, why should I loose the goldwing windshield benefits trying to see over It and get all the wind/rain on my helmet? :o Give it a try, what's the worst thing that can happen...you'll get wet? You may be surpris...

Re: Sunglasses - what do you use?

Built in visor in my helmet along with a tinted face shield for all day rides, rest of the time I use the clear shield with a sundowner tint strip at the top. I gave up on glasses long ago. Many days I broke $20 worth of convenience store glasses before I got home.

While you have it apart, pull the cable out of the housing and clean/lub it. I use Vaseline on mine as part of annual service.

Re: Adjusting Valves

Hydraulic valves don't need adjusted. The flush...you can add some sea foam or other similar product. Follow the instructions on the can. You're not adding a gallon, only a few ounces so you shouldn't get it over full by enough to even tell. But if you're worried you could take a syringe and pull ou...

Re: securing side covers

The best thing about Rudy's products is the owner (Ric) is a winger and he builds products that he uses on his bike. He's not in it for the millions he makes, only for a great product, thought out well and at a fair price. He makes each kit when you order. I consider him a friend and he's pretty dar...

If you haven't had a problem, you haven't "needed" the additional current.

There was a bag with a couple stickers and two dogbone fuses included with my Compu-Fire when I got it.

Re: Wanting to use a thermoelectric cooler/warmer on trailer

I've been thinking about doing this myself. It's such a great idea.

No more stopping for ice once a day or filling out of hotel machine.

If you do it, take some pictures and share. I wonder what different sizes of those they make. I don't want a 40qt one that's almost big as my trailer.

Re: Windshield on 2005 goldwing

Don't be surprised if one day it stops working though. There were a couple of years that had problems with the windshield ratchet but IDK which years. I figure mine will fail one day too.

But I normally don't use mine except to clean underneath the vent and on the dash.

Good luck and ride safe.

it's not electric so fuses are non related. un clamp it with the levers. jiggle it around a little to free the rubber that gets stuck to it. grab both sides and lift, you should hear a click about every1/2" when it gets all the way up you have to "reset" the ratchet mechanism by raising up pretty ha...
