Use of gears

I have been following a YouTube channel - XmkkUR1zirA Basically the channel is about a (very nice) man who has returned to motorcycling after a 40 year absence and is re-learning his skills. Recently, there has been an argument over gear selection and usage. There seems to be a body of thought that ...

Re: Isle of Man time again

I can't understand more than a word or two!
There does tend to be a lot of Northen English accents as well as Northern Irish accents which can be a challenge. Mind you, if I had just done three laps at an average speed of 130 mph, all you would get out of me would be gibberish.

Re: Front tire

As others have said, it is most likely to do with the left side taking more road contact and therefore wear. Bear in mind also that most roads are cambered so even when riding in an upright stance on a straight road, the left side will see more conctact with the road than the right. It is the opposi...

I will prep my windshield and my helmet faceshield
I have been using Rain-X for plastic. Can't say I am impressed with it. Rain doesn't bead particularly well from my screen nor my visor.

Kings don't have to carry money, at least our Queen doesn't - it is technically all her's anyway.

Re: RIDING IN THE RAIN.

. Diesel is VERY slick, even worse in water. Dreadful problem here in the UK especially on roundabouts early morning. Buses and trucks fill their tanks to the max and when they go round the tight curve of a roundabout, the g-force causes diesel to spill out. Of course, when you are on a motorcycle ...

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?

Well that's option one I won't be doing. The highest point in England is just 3209ft above sea level. My house is a dizzying 40ft above sea level.

Re: Taking the 'Wing on a ferry

It very much depends upon the ferry, the sea and the crossing. My local ferries go from Hull to Rotterdam (Holland) or Zeebrugge (Belgium) each about a 12 hour crossing and the ships now have special bike bays which are quite secure. The seas can sometimes be rough, especially in winter but the ship...

Re: Clock adjustment doesn't

I have the opposite problem. The adjustment knob works fine but the clock doesn't keep very good time, it loses, not too badly, a couple of minutes a week. I suspect the adjuster on the pendulum needs winding up.

Does it make a significant difference to the dipstick level if the machine is on its kickstand or on its centre stand?

Re: Video: How to get a Goldwing on and off the center stand

At that point if I just stand up on my right foot and lift slightly on the grab handle- it is almost effortless to put on the center stand. This worked for me too. But over the last summer/winter I have been ill with two frozen shoulders. They are much improved now but a long way from being back to...

Re: Motorcycle Transport in Canada

It's only 2000 miles or so, ride. Of course, there is the possiblility of being eaten by a bear, or dying from exposure. Getting lost and not being found for 20 years, by which time you have married a wolf and have developed terrible table manners. But hey-ho.
