Re: 83 Aspencade without linked brakes?

Roadrogue, the kit was ordered online from "Fast Sports Bikes" part of the L Seven Development LLC. They have at least three different online outlets that I'm aware of but the same policies for all, no returns for sale items. Like you I've never heard of an 83 Aspencade that didn't have linked brake...

83 Aspencade without linked brakes?

A question to those with greater experience, I recently ordered a stainless steel braided brake line replacement kit for my 83 Aspey and received a set that had banjo fittings on both ends of all the lines. When I called the suppler they told me I hadn't specified the linked brake system and sent fo...

Re: Roll Call - Albertans

LOL, way different viewpoints of "awesome weather" I'm likening the sunshine and +16° we have right now.

Besides I spend 8 years riding a bike all year, pushing a Harley & sidecar out of the snowbank was not one of my favorite riding experiences.

Re: Roll Call - Albertans

Hmmmm, not sure why I didn't see this earlier but.... add me to the list, summer home in south west Edmonton and winter in Casa Grande AZ. Riding an 83 Aspey (the chrome queen) but had to leave it tucked away in the garage for the winter.

Re: Correcting Speedometer Errors

Hi Noeleo, I posted a similar question some weeks ago regarding my 83 Aspey, it was consistently reading high. From the answers I got then it seems to be an endemic fault in all models, perhaps Honda's way of avoiding tickets? In any event there wasn't any info forthcoming on a fix, just find out ho...

Re: length of gl1100

Just went out and measured mine (83 Aspey) and it's 94.5" to the rear light bar and 98" to the bumper hitch. Seems like 8' would be a good rule of thumb.

Re: Can speedo read out be adjusted?

Thanks Old Fogey but it's a digital read out on the speedo so can't go that route. I'd decided to just live with it, I took the GPS along on a test run and found the error is pretty much linear, off the same amount at all speeds so I can just make the mental adjustment.

Re: Can speedo read out be adjusted?

Thanks Oldsmore, I was afraid that would be the answer, guess I'll have to just adjust the nut on the seat. Anyone else tried a more technical adjustment?

Can speedo read out be adjusted?

I recently purchased an 83 aspy, new to me and really enjoying getting back on a bike after many years away. Recently a friend was following me and later remarked that I was about 4-5 mph under the speed limit. I was reading right on at the speedo so obviously I'm over reading a bit. Is there any wa...

Need a replacement light or lens

Just recently acquired an 83 Gold Wing with lots of bling and seem to have lost the lens off one of the mud flap lights. I believe the flap is Wing Leader but have been unable to find anything similar online or the local recycle places. I'm hoping someone out there has a replacement or site to follo...
