Local Cleveland show

Just in case anyone is local to the Cleveland area, and wants to check out our show, this is the closing weekend for a musical I've been working on for the last few months. It's fun, family-friendly, and good entertainment: https://www.cleveland.com/north-olmsted/index.ssf/2018/05/dover_players_comm...

Re: GL1100 engine removal & missing bolts

Hi, The engine is completely out of the bike, so I will definitely take your list into account when putting it back in. What do you mean with "oil screen"? Where is that sitting? You definitely want to clean the oil screen while the engine is out of the bike, as it's a pain to get to when it's in t...

Re: 1994 Honda Pacific Coast

We've got one. It's a great bike! It should not be at all twitchy. I suspect that might be tires, could also be old suspension. The cam seals on them tend to harden and start leaking - your first indication will be oil leaking out the bottom, and if you follow it up you'll find it leaking from the c...

Re: Moto Solutions RainCoat windshield coating

I use the RainX on my cages. It works very nicely. The water just beads up and rolls off. I still run my wipers, but very seldom more than just the slowest intermittent setting. RainX works great on glass, but don't use it on acrylic/polycarbonate/plexiglass windshields! They make a special RainX j...

Re: RIDING IN THE RAIN.

I carry Olympia Horizon Rain Gear which is the best I've used. It is 100% waterproof, it breathes so you don't get hot, it has a hood that goes up over your head to prevent water going down your neck, and it folds up into integrated pouches that you can stuff into the saddlebag when it's not raining...

I'm having fun following the updates, keep them coming! ...$68 to mount balance and new valve stem  Yeah, I'm going to be replacing tires soon myself. That's why on my way to mom's house on Mother's Day I took the one-day 25% off coupon for Harbor Freight and got this. About $43 after tax, n...

Knob off, dust seal off. I sprayed cleaner to it and turned back and forth.. now it works. Yup, this would have been my first suggestion. Electrical contact cleaner into the volume control, and work the control back and forth. https://www.amazon.com/CRC-5103-Quick-Electronic-Cleaner/dp/B000BXOGNI

Re: Fuel cap vented or not ??

The cap has a vent that will resist both vacuum and pressure - to a certain point. When running and fuel is used up, it will allow some air in, but there will be some vacuum - so when you open the cap to fill up after riding for a while, you'll hear air rushing in. If the fuel heats up and the air e...

PO installed a High-Output alternator on my 1500, not sure if it's a Compufire or LActrical (how do you tell the difference?) - It whines, but does not growl..... Lots of "juice" though, even at idle.... :) This is a Compufire: 58500a_1.png 58500_1.png This is a Lactrical: 51sBPK-fv2L.jpg 51WLNf3gQ...

Are you sure that is exactly where it is coming from? Fluid leaks can often masquerade their source, with it appearing to come from the lowest point.

I CANNOT get my 76 on the center stand without putting the rear tire on a 2x4....reasons?? It could be worn out rear shocks that are sagging. When I replaced the old, sagging shocks on my 82 GL1100 with new ones with fresh, new springs (Progressive 416's), I couldn't believe how much easier my bike...

I can tell you that this site, at present, does not honor Bullets or Lists which gripes me a lot. It will let you use Bold, and Italic, so use "White Space" lines between thoughts, and "2 white lines" between subjects. if you don't the results will be "run on sentences". I use an offline editor for...

Re: Leaks after winter storage

Your water pump seal has failed. That little hole is called the "telltale hole" or "weep hole" and is designed to allow the coolant to leak out instead of contaminating your crankcase oil.

You should have a look through this: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=275

Re: Digital Gauges & 7V regulator

Hello All, I'm putting an acewell digital gauge on my 75 GL1000 and currently hooking it up to the temp and fuel gauges. The acewell specifies only a resistance 10-1000r for each sensor. From what I can tell, the 7v regulator is to power the stock gauges to read the same resistance. Therefore, I be...

Strange. Multiply bar by 14.5 to get PSI.
