Re: Helmets are a good thing

I also have one of those helmets, it is still with me, had to buy some replacement faceshields for it though. why can't I add a picture here? tried both Add File, and Drag 'n Drop You should be able to just drag a picture into the text entry area of your posting, and it will add it to the message.

Re: Electricity 101

The common idea is the "red" wire is the "hot" wire....In DC electronics reality,, it is not... Electricity(moving electrons) is provided from the negative terminal of the battery...The electrons actually flow through the frame to all the individual grounds, into the "load"..(ex.light bulb) and then...

Re: Escapade trailer issue

I'm assuming this is what you're looking at: IMG_7881.jpg Tough to see what is holding that there, is it welded to the inside of the tube? I might be tempted to take it to a welding shop to see if they could effect a repair, before replacing the subframe. But for sure talk to CSC first to see what t...

Re: Finally... A summation of what I have learned

Honestly what makes me the most upset about all of this was the fact that the fuel pump gave me a false, but correct reading with the output test. The pump put out more than enough flow, just not required pressure. So after I ran that test I tried to find another problem and wasted about 2 weeks or...

Re: Schrader Valve Question

Pump it up all the way, then take a spray bottle, put a squirt of dish soap in it, and spray it around the tire and the valve. You will likely find bubbles appearing wherever the leak is. I have the same thing on my front tire, and it is the bead seat. I'll be sealing my rim this winter when I put ...

Re: High speed running problem

A suggestion to eliminate the gas cap as a potential cause: Tie a cloth, piece of thick rope, etc. around the gas cap vent line, and drape it out the gas flap. This will keep the flap from closing and latching shut. Then go ride. When the engine starts to falter, reach down, flip open the gas flap, ...

I saw this posted today and read it to my wife who thought it was wonderful as well. Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. After a boyhood of farming and football in Waco, Texas, Doris “Dorie” Miller enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1939. He was 19 and wanted to see the world and earn some money to send home....

Re: Specialty tool for Swingarm nut

I did the same thing (useful also for the triple tree castle nut) to build mine from a socket. However there is a cheaper alternative: This is actually meant for BMX bikes, but it fits ours great, and it's only $14: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AO9S68/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&ps...

Re: What Trailer can i really tow?

I find that my trailer is very sensitive to tongue weight. With my trailer at its normal camping load, I need as close to possible as 30 lbs weight on the tongue at the hitch. I carry along a luggage scale to check this. Too much weight on the tongue and it starts pushing my bike through corners. To...

Re: LCD Module Inop

Good diagnostic work! It's satisfying to find those kinds of problems and then fix them. I had an old Korg Polysix synthesizer that had an old NiCd battery for the memory that failed and leaked all over the board, eating up a bunch of tiny traces. I did the same kind of fix, but to about 15 differen...

Mine also will not start if in gear and the kick stand is down.
That's correct. And if it is in gear and you put the kick stand down (or the kick stand is down and you put it in gear) the engine should shut off. It's the bike's way of saying, "don't do what you're about to do!"

not what you need, but I found that with my SPOT gps tracker, that the only reliable place was on top of the rear truck lid. I tried it all over the fairing, and it could not see, or reply to the satellites reliably. Had so many skips, that it was useless for what I needed... so, I velcroed it to t...

So perusing the owner's manual, I notice that only the Canadian bikes get a tool kit. I wonder what the reason for that is?

No Tool Kit outside Canada

After reading the info on the 2018 Gold Wing Tour for Canada, I do have a couple questions; You talked about the 2 second idle shut down for Canada, is this on both Canadian models or just DCT model, and how does that work? So when your in traffic and sitting at a light with the new 6 speed in neut...
