Re: Mini Fridge Review

I have a Koolatron cooler, works on the same exact principal, but it's big - like ice chest big. I have to watch it, because left running for a couple days, it will freeze things left inside it, and the condensation inside turns to ice.

Re: Additional Lights - Need to be seen

I saw a video recently where a guy on a bike was rear-ended by a girl texting on her phone. She gets out and is traumatized, crying, promising that she will NEVER text again, etc...police come, all the rest of it. The bike is damaged, but rideable. The girl gets ticketed. After all the legal dealing...

Mini Fridge Review

I hate drinking warm drinks - I am not a coffee drinker, hot chocolate or tea, basically I like my drinks COLD. I have a cooler bag that I sometimes put my drinks in so I can carry them in my bike. I thought perhaps a small active cooler fridge might be a good option. After shopping around a bit, I ...

Wingstuff Half Cover Review

Having finally worn out my previous half cover, I thought I would give the Wingstuff Deluxe Half Cover a try. Like my previous cover, It is water resistant, but NOT waterproof. And like my previous cover (which was a thin, tent-like material) I will spray it with a tent waterproofing spray once or t...

Re: Additional Lights - Need to be seen

I floated the idea of a 'signal interrupter', the possibility of broadcasting our presents to those individuals that feel entitled to use their cel phones while in cotrol of a motor vehicle. There are cell phone jammers available, that are completely illegal to use anywhere, and I've heard people t...

Re: Phillips had screws

Funny we talk about Quality tools, Seems like on my 91 i have to use the cheap jap JIS screwdriver out of my cheap jap tool kit Honda provided to loosen the cheap Jap JIS screws for my overpriced american snap on screwdrivers. In fact i think my set of 6 snap on screwdrivers were like $140 , But a ...

Rocky Mountain ATV

I've been buying my motorcycle tires from Rocky Mountain ATV for many years - basically because they have the best prices around. They have fast (free!) delivery, and the tires area always fresh. I once tried a different tire vendor online, and ended up receiving 2 1/2 year old tires, that I sent ba...

I have found that some of the cheaper brands of brake cleaner contain acetone. Found out the hard way. I only use CRC brand. Just saying.
This is the same NAPA brake cleaner that I have been using for years, never had it do anything like this before to ABS!

Re: Best glue for parts?

I generally use ABS and ABS glue for repairs as it works the best: it's meant for ABS, which is what our body panels are made of. That said, I did give Plast-aid a try (click for my review, with pictures) and it worked well. It would work reasonably well for building tabs or other pieces that might ...

Re: BATTERY CELLS GOING DRY

GL1500's are power-hungry beasts, and both draw and charge at high levels. You are more than likely boiling off the electrolyte with a high charging rate. It's possible you might have a problem with your alternator, and you'll want to check that first. Refill the battery using (ONLY) distilled water...

Re: 1995 cruise control out.

I have a new to me 1995 aspencade. The cruise on light comes on when button is pushed however the set light doesn’t and it will not set and cruise. Does the bike have to be in 4th or 5th gear for the set light to work or should the light come on whenever set is pushed. I have the complete trouble s...

Re: GL1500 won't start till starter button is released

When I press the tarter button on my 1988 goldwing 1500, I hear clicks and worst of all my Ground Cable on my Battery melts the Battery post. It only hapens when I press the starter button. Everything else works fine: Lights and all when I turn on the ignition switch, but when I press the starter b...

Re: Machine won't run well, even after professional carb cleaning

The culprit was the fuel line needing to be replaced. Ran 600 miles in the past few weeks. Now, my clutch is leaking fluid, the master cyclinder is empty after a couple of hundred miles and needs to be bled and fluid replaced. I checked around the MC, and around the bleeder valve for leaks, but not...

Re: Noisy alternator

Yes the nocking sound is coming from the alternator. I put my stock alternator back on and no noise. I'm thinking the higher amp alternator is able to put out more current at idle and it's the backlash making the sound. The alternator should not be knocking, regardless. There shouldn't be backlash ...

Re: Lucas oil stabilizer safe in Gl1500 engine oil?

If the Lucas bottle does not have a label statement saying it has no friction modifiers, or that it is JASO MA/MA2 certified, I would not use it. I spent a bit of time trying to figure out exactly what IS in the stuff. Even the MSDS doesn't state its contents, beyond "flammable petroleum products."...

Re: time to replace the tire

At 7500 miles it shouldn't be near to done, but with that nail, and especially that crack, I'd call it a day and replace the tire.

Just out of interest, what kind of tire is it?

Amazon has whole sets ... in chrome even.
Yeah, mine had chrome ones on it when I first got it. I ripped them off (along with a ton of other blinding, useless chrome in the cockpit) as it blinded me every time the sun was out.
