Re: left side red wind deflector

When one broke on my bike I got a piece of lexan from ebay for under $20. Large enough to cut a matching pair. Heat gun will allow you to alter if flat is not desired.

Re: TIRE TEMPS

I was running a Michelin ct on rear and Bridgestone rear on front of my 89 Gl1500. Couple hours at 70-80 mph and temps were an average of 119 degree. Running 52 psi rear and 40-42 psi front. Switched over to nitrogen and dropped temp another 10 degree. After riding 3 to 4 hours at speeds of 25-45 on...

Re: Honda Shadow 600

I think I'm through for now. Could not resist the front lower fairing, makes riding with shorts a joy. Vents work well directing warm air for cool mornings. Could not believe fuel mileage, but it is stable at 65-67 mpg. Makes those 150 mile runs doable with a 2.5 gallon tank. Yes that's the fairing ...

Re: Riding boots

I did not see shoe size mentioned as that could be part of your problem. On my GL1500 my size 10 was a good fit but my brother with size 13 would not. He had no problem with his cowboy boots.

Try rocking reverse lever a few times. The switch can stick and lots of times only needs working free to operate properly.

#8 fuse also supplies rear lights, so I suspect a pinched wire somewhere. Did you move any wires.

Re: DOES ANYONE HAVE A SET OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING THE CM1032 TRIGGER TIMING WHEEL

Windings, thanks for the reply. My 89 once suffered from hesitation, turned out to be the rubber elbows that attach in center of heads. Tubing will weaken and suck partially closed wntil it finally breaks. When carb assembly was removed from the 88 it was noted that several leaks were present. Mine ...

Re: DOES ANYONE HAVE A SET OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING THE CM1032 TRIGGER TIMING WHEEL

Curious, what do you hope to gain from install. Had a frind with an 88 who only got low 30's mpg while my 89 got mid 40's. He thought it would cure hesitation and increase mileage but only seen better with premium fuel. The end did not justify the cost or effort. But removing and rebuilding carb did...

Just last Saturday borrowed a friend's rollback to pickup a 95 Isuzu Trooper in Gastonia, NC. On way back to Highway was sitting at light to make right turn when something hit truck. Fool on a moped tried to squeeze through but did not take notice of those big ass mirrors. Nearly took his head off a...

Sounds like insufficient lube or torn boot allowed moisture to seize joint. Bite the bullet and remove the swing arm before more damage is done.

The angle or cornering lights is such that it does not interfere with oncoming traffic. Little forward light but they do cover the ditches.

Re: Lean operated cornering lights?

Always thought the cornering lights were a necessity living so far in country area where dark roads are all you get. Few years back there was a big discussion over converting cornering to running lights. Since I already had upper running lights I installed a toggle switch to break the wire to allow ...

Been away since selling my Wing. Hope you have resolved the problems by now. My Honda Shadow 600 had similar issues, due to extended times of not being ridden. Petcock was partially stopped up and its not that much flow to start with. Also the fuel filter was blocked and greatly limited the small fl...

GL1500 Parts

Sold my Goldwings after years of happy riding. Time to let go all remaining parts. 1988-89 rear wheel with new Michelin Agilis car tire and balancing beads. Tire is 6.75" wide and 27" tall and lowers rpm 300-400 at highway speed. Had 2 spare wheels mounted with this setup and sold the 94 before it w...

I have dealt with Electrosport many times and always have a good outcome. They do sell a quality product and stand behind it. Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

:| Ok, another choice. The Michelin Agilis 175/75 R16. Diameter appears perfect for a Wing. I was runing a Michelin Agilis 195/75-16 with no rub and only 20 psi in the rear suspension. Did run tire at 50 psi. Only removed to lower bike after last stroke. Larger tire did decreased rpm by 400 and allo...

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

On my '99 GL-1500... I'm guessing that a 175 width is about right. Who can tell me first hand what size I'm looking for, and better yet, which tire you have used that fit my needs? Thanks guys. The 175/60-16 is widely used, lowers rear by 3/4", install easily with no issues and gets far better grip...
