Re: Lower Fairing lights for a1200 LTD and SEI

Sounds pretty normal. Remember, the heat will rise on the sensor even after you shut down the motor. Transferred heat takes at least 25 minutes to start cooling back off. You may just want to check the fan plug on the metal plate between the fan and the motor. A nice clean connection is important on...

Re: Lower Fairing lights for a1200 LTD and SEI

Fan should come on when you are at 2 bars above the half mark. Heard people that have used the lower temperature switch talk about the fan never turning off. Also heard from others that say it worked fine.

Re: 86 Aspencade SEI idling, blows fuse, shuts off

I have a sealed battery on mine. The lead wire is fused with a 30A blade. LTD with light bars, side lights, driving/cornering combo lights, trunk brake/turn conversion has not had an issue since these repairs were done 5 years ago. Same battery, trickle charged or started every month through the Win...

Re: 86 Aspencade SEI idling, blows fuse, shuts off

I cut and hard wired the connector at the regulator too. Then ran a constant wire to the + battery post from the rectifier. 14.1-14.4 v at 1000 rpm consistantly.

Re: 86 Aspencade SEI idling, blows fuse, shuts off

#4 from the left should be the rear lights and stop relay. It comes from the ignition and that may be why no start when the fuse pops. Still digging.

Re: 86 Aspencade SEI idling, blows fuse, shuts off

Do your tail lights and hazards work when the fuse is good and key on? Does the fuse blow when you activate the brake light? Will the fuse hold when in the on position, without starting the motor?

If you have a microphone with your head sets...... You can adjust the microphone volume and mute settings so that you don't have to push the mute button. The voice will mute the radio/cassette and allow you to talk over the music. Works the same as the CB over ride. Just so you know. :D

Way to keep after it. That mileage is outstanding and it sounds like you really paid attention when dialing in the synchronizing. Working on the collar you are needing.

Re: My 1986 GoldWing SEI burning rich

Dig deeper for the air filter. Pull the false tank, move the fuses out of the mounting bracket, unscrew the wing nut, pull out the air box cover, remove the air filter. Ponder cleaning the fuel intake while you have it nearly exposed. Finish pondering and remove the air box base, the filter bracket,...

The manometer connection is the screws at the bottom of all four intake pipes. Balancing is left to right only. No adjustment from front to rear.(1 to 3 or 2 to 4) 1 and 3 should match, 2 and 4 should match within 1.6 in. Hg(mercury). With the idle speed set at 1000 +/-, use the cylinder bank screw ...

Re: Correcting Speedometer Errors

Many other forums and research has shown 10%(+/-) to be the approximate degree of the speed sensor error. Been talked about a lot with people attempting to correct the unit with no positive results. The odometer is obviously affected in the same fashion.

The 1985 GL1200 LTD Crank angle sensor(NS) is indeed also in the timing belt housing. It is located above the crank shaft. The pulse generator sensor is near the bottom of the housing. Cam angle sensors are at the right rear valve cover.

The idle speed adjustment is done from the right side of the bike, rear of the throttle body. Look below the false tank and move the throttle a bit. You will find the adjustment screw near the center of the motor. Note!!!----the fuel injection must be cleaned and syncronized prior to any idle adjust...

The fuel injected LTD PGs are under the front timing cover. Different setup than the 1985 carb model.
