Re: Greater Comfort Using Kuryakyn ERGO Boards & Pegs.

None of the chrome has ever peeled on any of my Kuryakyn add ons. I have had some Kury stuff on my other bike for more than 25 years and it has not peeled, but I have heard of it happening. As some of their stuff is plastichrome, I could understand it, but the metal stuff should never peel. I have a...

Re: Hosting your Pictures

Thanks for this info. I have deleted everything I had on Photobucket, although I am not sure it actually deletes. It told me it was gone. I have nothing left there that I can "see" and I have now deleted my account with them, although it will probably live forever. I will not be able to access it wi...

Re: How do I repair THIS?

If it was me, I think I might just cut to fit, a piece of 1/8 inch aluminum plate and attach it there to cover the entire triangular part of the fairing. Same on the other side to match. Quick, easy (relatively), guaranteed to be sturdy enough, and probably look like it belonged there.

Re: Would You Replace Hard Lines on Brakes?

Yeah, I would go with AZgl1800 on this, because, steel lines on motorcycles are not often exposed to salt and calcium like on cars. The hard lines are probably just about as perfect as when the bike was built. Now, if you had any scum in any brake cylinder or brake master cylinder, it would be a dif...

Pobably because there is more light on full moon and super moon nights, so more people out riding at night.

Re: Finally... A summation of what I have learned

Well, each time I tried something new it always followed odd results from the tests I tried. I was just a little uninformed without the shop manual. Anyway put it back together today, hoping to get some riding in soon. Gotta say one thing. That is a beautiful empty, clean, place you have to work on...

My only guess is that they are intentionally soaking Ford for all this unnecessary labor, knowing full well it's covered under warranty.
That would be my bet.

Re: Escapade trailer issue

Probably your best option for answers would be to contact the manufacturer of the trailer. This may, or may not, be Open Road Outfitters in Florida. If it is, you could email them at: Dale@OpenRoadOutfitters.com Okay, I guess it is not Open Road that makes them... They must just be a vendor. So, Ca...

Did you ever get this to a dealership to look at it? Inquiring minds want to know how Mother Honda is treating you.

Re: gps

I have the OEM, which is a Garmin, but it is not as fully functional as I would like, so for the other stuff, like speed comparison with my speedometer, I just use a little Tom Tom. I use it when I put new tires on the bike to check how far out my speedo is so I can compensate. Then I use it occasio...

He is tough though. Shifting and putting your foot down must be painful. He is probably a surfer. Someone should tell him pavement is a bit harder than water.

My local dealer had side cover grommet kits for about $6.
I considered tethering mine, but it isn’t necessary with good grommets.
Yup, Cyclemax sells em by the bag. I have a couple of bags of them here. If a grommet disappears or seems iffy, I just swap it out and throw the old one away.

Re: Trailer Electrical Receptacle

Get the kits from Cyclemax, remove the plastic that the license plate is on, wire according to the instructions from Cyclemax's kits and cable tie the plug to your hitch. If you do not yet have a hitch installed, get one of the ones that has a full frame and six point mounting as they are about the ...

Re: What Trailer can i really tow?

The lightest tent trailers available commercially are at least 300 pounds. Add some gear and you go up. I do not think that I personally would try a tent trailer behind a 1200, but some people have. The most important part of trailering though is stopping efficiently. With your bike, if your braking...

Re: Valkyrie handlebar risers

If you have round bars, and know the diameter, it should be quite easy to find a set of risers for the bike that will situate the grips just about anywhere you would like them to be. Just google Handlebar Risers and see what a wealth of items come up.

Re: Poor gas mileage and smell

Just because you are very careful not to overfill, does not mean the P.O. was. As there is no fuel filter on the bike, it is not that which is causing a lessening in fuel mileage, so, I cannot help you there, but the fuel smell could indeed be from the evap canister.

Re: 1500 screws

Why wud Honda make em like that? Seems kinda nonsensical to me? Why not just use a Philips? Stupid anyway (IMHO anyway). Because Honda is a Japanese company, and JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) is a Japanese standardized system. In all likelyhood, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha also use JIS screws....

I was like Dusty Boots. Tent camped. I, did it with a cargo trailer as it was a two up experience with no room on the bike for the camping gear. I got wet. A lot. So, I went through a series of tent campers, and after four different ones, I ended up with a Shur Kamp which was like a lee-sure-lite. I...

Re: 2015 Accessory Fuse Issue

That plug only carries milliamps of power, or enough to charge your cell phone, as the wiring would not support more. It does not carry the amperage necessary to power devices such as your air pump. I do not know which fuse you may have taken out, but hopefully it was a fuse. The wires connecting th...

The original poster has not returned since posting his first time in this thread. I was wondering if there was any possibility that the bike had been subjected to submersion from the Hurricane that had passed through there just prior to his posting, but since he never came back, I cannot ask.
