Re: Zumo 590 Audio Output To AUX Input - GL1800 2007

Do you have the Zumo set to audio warnings on? A method of testing the Zumo would be to use a set of earbuds with the RCA jack. If they work, the Zumo sound out is working, if not perhaps a malfunction.

Re: Engine heaters anyone?

Okay, I am from the North Country where it does get cold. What would this block heater be in aid of? If it is too cold to ride, why would you need to warm the engine. It is actually inadvisable to start a stored engine, as it develops moisture and acids in the oil that do not get evaporated out in t...

Re: All Balls Or OEM Fork seal kit

I also went with OEM when I did my front forks. Only because those parts were available when I needed them, and All Balls would have taken a week to ten days to get. OEM are excellent parts, but if the All Balls are readily available and $50 less for the kit, I think I might go with them. They do ha...

Re: Turn signals quit when brake is applied

Bulbs were changed, ground was added, trailer light module and pigtail installed. I rode about 200 Miles it was fine, then it started again. I have had those trailer light modules be bad from brand new. We bought three of them for three GL1800s several years ago, and only one was good. The other tw...

Re: Spark Plugs

The difference I noticed with the Iridium plugs was better (smoother) idling and higher fuel mileage. And yes, the Iridiums I found are also an NGK product.

Re: Spark Plugs

Actually, for my GL1800, I have had better service from Iridium plugs than from the NGK OEM plugs. OEM gave me one year and when I switched to the Iridiums, I noticed a big difference. I have now been on the same set of Iridiums for about five years. I will change them out this spring, with a new se...

Re: After market seats or saddle

I mistyped in my response about the Ultimate King seat. I said if you were over those numbers the seat would not be good, but I meant if you were under. Over six feet tall with 32 or more inseam should be okay on the King Ultimate. Shorter with less inseam not so much. I should proof read more often...

Re: What Trailer can i really tow?

Electric brakes on trailers are a terrific thing. I have had both with and without, and far prefer with. The added expense is worth every dollar of your motorcycle's life. I did not know pure electric brakes were not available for 8" wheeled axles, but I do know that "surge" brakes are. I had them o...

Yeah minimac, and double your snow and lower your temps to -32, and you know why us Canucks don't ride in the winter. Sidcar, them are some cool autos and bikes. We have car shows here but never see any of that old Brit stuff like the Jags and MGs. The MGs we might see here are the two seater tiny l...

Re: After market seats or saddle

I had a Diamond (Hartco) seat on my 2002 Goldwing and traveled a lot with it. Good seat had some draw backs such as clothe, always worried about rain, it finally broke in around 4000 miles. Sold the bike and bought a 2010 wing that came with an Ultimate king seat. If the seat didn't come with the b...

Re: Plastic bubble

I agree with the tunnel filters. So much so that I did not even think of them, as I have had them in since about year two of owning this bike. They definitely cut down the noise from the front end. Also, wind and bugs that might come up through the tunnel, which reminds me... I need a new set before...

I can't really see needing this for the front wheel, and if I ever got my wing up on it for the back wheel, I would probably need six big helpers to get it back off. The picture of a goldwing rear wheel on this is horrifying.

Re: Plastic bubble

It may be either something in your rear storage pockets, or the trunk lid or hinges. These make noise on just about every GL1800 I have seen. The trunk lid can be fixed with either baby buggy bumpers, or a strip of tubing forced into the trim rubber; the hinges can be quieted with some foam wrapped ...

Very nice product. Looked it up on Amazon.ca, price is $16.97 plus tax and an Extra $10.00 shipping. Like your price better.
I agree, but Amazon.com will not ship it to Canada.

That specific stubby is only for radio, and will shorten your range considerably. I could not even find a stubby for CB antenna replacement, probably due to the information that AZgl1800 stated above.

Re: Frozen battery ( safe to re-charge )

Like AZ mentioned, the battery is probably toast, however, if you have a smart charger with a desulphate setting, you might be able to bring it back. It all depends on firstly, if the freezing warped any plates, and two, if it is past its useable life anyway. Ensure that it is totally thawed before ...

Sweating whilst riding a motorcycle is rarely a problem here. Now hypothermia..... A Doo Rag also keeps the dirt outta yer doo... as in hairdoo, and keeps the wind from blowing it out of its nice set (for women). We now have custom doo rags over here in the Americas. They are sewed up to the shape ...

I rode my bike to trailer week Yeah, Jim, I hear ya - but - I do not feel too bad about the trailering my bike and having a slide in camper to sleep in. I passed the 800,000 mile point in 54 years riding sometime in the summer of 2017. I still love riding, but find comfort to be - well - comfortable.

Thank Hoosier Jack no report in the negative on the ultimate seat Here is your negative on both Ultimate and Corbin. They both cost an arm and a leg, plus three fingers from the other arm. Re: After market seats or saddle

I tried Corbin and hated it, got an Ultimate, and I love it. I can do thousand mile days back to back but I do not any longer due to my age. The guy who got my Corbin loves it. WingAdmin has a Corbin and loves it. That sums up what I know. I hear good stuff about several of the others like Mustang, ...
