Re: My first accident was almost with another motorcyclist!

It happens all the time with new to a group riders. They want so bad to do the right things, in fact so bad, that they screw up by not looking where they and others are going. They try to ride the group ride first and their own ride second, and that just does not work. You gotta ride your own ride, ...

Re: AUDIO ANTENNA

Is it an AM station, or an FM station. FM stations do not always have a great range, usually limited to line of sight which can be as little as 15 miles. Terrain inconsistencies can also block FM signal. Commercial FM can boost their signal to get as high as 30 to 40 miles, but not much better than ...

Re: AUDIO ANTENNA

The plastic cap means nothing and does not interfere with your radio reception and does not need to be removed. The little rubber one was probably just as good, as it was a wound wire coil to give it the frequency ranges. If your reception is not good, there could be several reasons. First, are you ...

Re: Trunk delete?

You would be in a correct forum for your thread, but although, in the past, I have seen mention of a trunk removal kit for other than 2018 GL1800s, I have not seen any for a while. I, therefore, cannot assist in any other way, except for to say you have posted your question in a place where someone ...

Re: Is the 1800 any faster ?

I also am an ex patch holder, who rode Harleys for 45 years. I never owned a Harley that was happy running at 100MPH, but they are pretty much made to run from 75 to 85. It is the sweet spot on any Harley I owned. I now have a GL1800, and it will run at 85, but one must realize that it is not the sw...

Re: I purchased amsoil 10w/30 for a 2008 by mistake

I as well have been to Hell and back, and have the T Shirt. It was not that hot, but it was June when I was there. As to the oil, as long as you bought a motorcycle specific 10W30 Amsoil you are good to go. It should say for Metric Motorcycles on the label. This specific oil is JASO MA/MA2 certified...

Or go all the way and buy a 2000 Watt Honda Generator to power your pump. An extension cord or two would be cheaper.

Re: THINGS TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING A USED 1800

Check if the brake recalls have been performed. If not, you can still take it into a dealership and have them done. If an Airbag model, there is a recall for that also. As AZgl1800 already mentioned, give it a ride and check transmission operation. Other than that, GL1800 bikes are as bulletproof as...

Thanks huggie. You have debunked what we all knew to be correct, but wasn't. I personally had never tried an interchange between these years, but the consensus was that it could not be done. Now we have the proof that it CAN be done. So, did you sell your old seat to the guy with the 2013?

Re: Legs hurting

Are you diabetic by any chance? If so, then the pain is likely from diabetic neuropathy, which means it is nerve pain. Neurological pain medication like Lyrica is helpful for this type of pain, but a better source of pain relief, which is non addictive, would be Cannabis oil (CBD only) as it is a pa...

Re: Wobble in front end

And what was not mentioned, but which can also cause low speed wobble, check the steering head for snuggness. Also, the steering head bearings could be not just loose, but damaged.

That said, the above comment on tires is probably the real cause.

Re: $12 Solution for your aching butt!

I wonder if a tire tube from a handicap scooter might just do the trick and be the right size. Put a little air in it, and voila, a hemeroid cushion that will probably never leak. They come in 4" and 6" wheel patterns. Outside diameter would be about 8" and 12". The bigger ones might just be perfect...

The only time this happened to me is when I forgot to press all the buttons required to get it all turned on. Audio first, then selection of whichever I wished to use. Mostly I press Audio, then CD, then CB and I am good to go. I seldom use the radio AM or FM, or the XM/Weather.

Re: Have You Trailered a 2018 Goldwing?

I am curious, why would one wish to trailer a bike unless it had been crashed or had a mechanical issue of some sort? A motorcycle must be ridden from home, ridden around your destination/s and then ridden home. With the exception of breakdown or physical incapacity of course. I have no wish to be ...

Three of us got ours from ebay. We found a guy who worked in a Honda Parts Department in Michigan, and he was selling OEM units off for $400 if you bought two or more, $500 for single units. They included antennas. We bought the three, all three work fine, and install was not difficult. If I wanted ...

When crossing Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, it is much more scenic to take the more northern highway along the coast. Highway 104 is for moving traffic in bulk. Coming back from Cabot, you can turn onto the more northern route just west of New Glascow, and you CAN get all the way into Quebec on it....
