Re: Auto Tire on the Rear, GL1800

I went with the Dunlop E4 tires on front and back. I like the way ride so far. we will see how many miles I get out of them 8-) I am not against the CT tire on a bike anymore. I compared them side by side and as far as I could tell the bead was not much different, it looked like it was mounted up fi...

Re: Auto Tire on the Rear, GL1800

well a few months ago I told you about the bike I bought with a CT on the back, I put 700 miles on then decided to replace it, it was down to the indicators. I decided to go back with a MT and I like the MT better. I like it in the corners and on angle drive ways like coming out of gas stations. the...

Re: Auto Tire on the Rear, GL1800

well I know this is an old post, but I had put some of my thoughts on this post about car tire on a bike. a year ago when I got back from vacation on my 06 wing I decided I was done riding and foolishly sold it. but this year I bought an 01 with a car tire on the back, and I have to admit it doesn't...

Re: stubborn oil filter

on the new filter I like to use grease on the o-ring instead of oil. just a then film of it. I don't know if it is any better or not but I have never had a problem. just like some of the others have said make sure you don't over tighten. 8-)

Re: heated seat/grips

if you have the old controller i would put it in and see what happens. kinda strange you cycle the power off and back on and it starts working. if you go to the post that is listed as (heated seat/grips update still baffling), you will find wiring diagram and trouble shooting advice 8-)

Re: heated seat/grips

i did get my stuff working by replacing grips, the left one was bad. but on your problem i dont think you can do what you are wanting to do, the heat system is controled by a computer that moniters everything. im not a mechanic but it could be a wire gets warm and you lose connection or it is a sens...

If I doe this and the temp in the garage is below about 52 the grips heat up nicely if set ti high and it only takes about a min. If you have already done something like this to test than ignore this tip. yep jinx, tha...

Re: music

What you're looking for is "normalization." You're right, MP3 files can vary greatly in their perceived loudness. That said, you can get music player apps for your phone that will normalize the playback, to make all the various songs the same apparent volume. well i am behind the times, i dont have...

been riding a goldwing now for about 7 years, this is the first i have heard anyone i have ever talked to about having tranny problems, i think if it was as big a problem as your saying there would have been a recall, like on the brakes a couple of years ago. never heard anything about that until i ...

Re: Where do I add Coolant to my Goldwing 1800?

ok let me get this straight you all are talking about an 1800? i have a 2006 and my coolant reserve tank is down on the left and side behind the engine cover, you pull that cover off and right there above the foot peg is the cap.
