Re: How to mount Garmin Zumo 660

I mounted mine on the dash directly in front of me. I don't have to look away from the road just slite eye movement down to see the screen. The cords that came with the bike mount I put behind the meter panel shelter to the left fairing pocket. Worked out great. I mounted mine on the dash as well f...

Re: wanted: 2015 stock seat for Goldwing. Sale or trade for my Corbin

Have you given the Corbin a real good chance to show it's benefits or does it just not fit you?IMHO if it fits you're making a big mistake trading it off.Nothing worse than a stock seat after a couple of hours.

Welcome!
Did it shift before you flushed and bled it?
Most bikes once they're moving you can shift them pretty easily even without using the clutch.

Re: TRANSMISSION WOES

Have you made a decision on how to repair your bike? Since you are in Florida I think I would contact justwings, I looked at their site and they know exactly what needs to be done. You might also consider pulling the engine yourself and see if they will repair it out of the bike, would save quite a...

I've heard it was 8 hours, but most likely because of the age they'll come up with some add-ons.

Re: TRANSMISSION WOES

Blaming the heel toe shifter for these issues is typical dealer not knowing what to do. Since Honda had never officially said there is an issue with syncro drum engagement the dealer is pretty much on their own. If the aftermarket shifter was even remotely to blame then evertime they sold a floorbo...

99 should be worth more for the simple fact that it has the updated Valk trans.Pretty sure it came out in 98.

Being an 07 along with what PastoT says you probably need at least new springs.Even with low mileage. They were weak right from new.My 04 had approx 35 k on it and the springs were not good.

Re: 1500 vs 1800

The only TWO PENNY thought I can offer is the 1800's frame. The early 1800 frame broke and MFG fixed the issue, to me, once it happened "it can" happen again. I haul trailers, sometimes (not often) really heavy ones. I'm not one who can weld aluminum on the side of the road. I'd have to rely on som...

Let me say first of all that I don't wear flip flops and shorts, but as far as getting dressed like I'm getting on the space shuttle that'll never happen. If it comes to that then I'll sell the bike and use the atv and boat a lot more.I do wear a mesh jacket(with most of the armor removed)when the sun...

We've found some real nice roads flying by the seat of our pants over the years and no stress worrying about having to get to a prebooked room if you get held up by something unforeseen.

Just went and had a look on HDLParts and that is part of the rear case.Saying all that though I think a good welder could repair that one a lot cheaper.May even be able to do it on the bike, but if not one way or the other it has to come off.

Re: GL1500 rough idle hard start fix

Well you can try other things but masking as you say is the fix and this fix was learned many years ago on the early 750 fours. If you understand how these carbs work you would probably understand how it really works and that it is not a masking issue. I'm a pro what do I know 8-) Mine was an 89 wh...

OK I gotta ask.did you hit the kill switch by chance?
If not then how much did you take apart to get it in and out? There's a couple of different ways of doing it.I would go back in and check all things that were unhooked and then reconnected.

I agree with "when it's your time".That's why I'm not an ATGATT kind of guy and yes I have been hit by a cager that wrote my 1200 off.I even tempt fate once in a while and ride with no helmet when the opportunity arises.

Re: Gl-1500 general overview?

Loved our 1500.Without a doubt the most comfortable Wing.As any Wing does it requires a good aftermarket seat to make it perfect.I got a good deal on a new Hartco and never looked back.In fact after our first trip on the 1800 I considered selling it and going back to a 1500.With a lot of work and a ...

I'm with you Gary! Im not interested in laying my bike down for any reason. I dont have a hitch either.
