Re: Trailer picture thread

Be careful removing the working parts from a fridge, they do have dangerous gases that can cause serious problems (phosgene is one).

Re: What's Happening Today?

Thanks, Brett and Sid, our cricketers did not start off too well against the Kiwis (New Zealanders), but the bowlers are practicing hard, from what I hear. The coach comes from about 30 Km away from here, the well known coach and former all-rounder Darren Lehmann. Cricketers are like the American a...

Very lucky, that you have not been touched by a bee, bird, or a rock thrown up by another vehicle, but I wish you well in your riding and may you ride well.

Re: GWRRA Members ???

After the Sep17 meet-up at Hocking Hills, if it is worthwhile to repeat, then please think of those that are on a fixed income and need to save their shekels (or whatever local currency), and plan for a trip away from home. Perhaps to run into a GWRRA meeting of some sort, just for the ideas one ca...

I am starting to feel my age, at 75.5 years young. I would love to put two wheels on the front of my GL1500A, thus enticing my spouse to come riding with me.

Re: What's Happening Today?

Well, I have been missing for a while, so here is a short catch-up. Computer went crappy and had to take it to a service centre for a "grease and oil change". It came back, and I got ill. I have been less than healthy for a couple of months, but am getting back to semi-normal (for me, that is - whi...

Re: What's Happening Today?

I had to read that last posting carefully, because it was not clear whether it was a Studebaker Hawk, a Humber Hawk, a Honda Hawk, or a feathered variety. I am a bit of a twitcher, and like to watch the wild birds that abound here, and listen to their songs while slacking off out the back. The choo...

Re: 1982 GL1100A Headlight dims but no starter activity

Your starting it once a week has probably used up a lot of jolts in the battery. The time that you are running it is not enough to put them back, as you do not get a good flow while it is idling or just running above idle. You should put it on a battery charger, no more than 12 hours (unless it is ...

Hello CliffWing, welcome. Have you checked the "Vendors" on this site, there are a number listed for MA, and two with lots of stars. Good luck while the weather is cool, you will have time to learn about GW.

Glad you are only like a bear with a sore head, and your body and head are relatively okay. Tomorrow, when the aches and pains start to find their way to the 'ouch' spots, will be the pain. I trust the blind guy driving the car was insured, because you should go and get the dearest quotes to have t...

In the scenario I raised, it would not matter if you were at 90 degrees north or south, or anywhere in between! Starboard is on the right, and Port is on the left, and still will be the same even if you travel east-west, west-east, north-south, south-north, or any combination.

Here in the Far South, we are cooling our heals inside. With outside temp of 42.2C (about 112F) at midday, I, together with dogs, are carefully studying the aircon effects while one dozes. We have not come to a conclusion yet, so we will have to keep studying.

Re: Trailer picture thread

And if you ride on the correct side, you should take advantage of the doors being hinged on the starboard side (right), so that while you are accessing your tools, drinks, food, etc on the left, you do not get impaled on an 18-wheeler or larger passing by.

For us older farts, here in SouthAustralia, we are able to have a Seniors Card. One of the features is that instead of driving the 75 Km to Adelaide CBD, I can drive 35 Km to the nearest station, and catch a train into the CBD. The parking is free, the train travel is free, and you can also get som...

Re: Shell oil/Seafoam/Wet Clutch

I would not be running straight 50 weight oil in mine. The thing about racing bikes is they never go out cold, and they usually make the engine work at higher revs = higher temps. Normal riding, would mean that you are not riding it around in 1st gear at redline, just to get it warm/hot enough. Wha...

For those that do not enjoy wiring

I came across this item which may have promise in tracking down those wiring imps that sometimes play havoc. The price listed is AUD, so it is probably less for those able to afford the big USD. http://www.banggood.com/Car-Automotive-Short-Broken-Circuit-Diagnostic-Scan-Cable-Repair-Tester-Tool-p-1...

I'm not confused, I was just thinking how hard it would be to wave the left foot, rather than the right foot? What is more interesting is how Stuart can ride to Florida without a cruise control, and still be able to write a cheque/check at the other end? Either hand must be pretty well cramped up b...

WingAdmin, I was loooking for an ABS system, and came across this:http://www.tcbbrakesystems.com/traction-brakes.html

At least it is not expensive, with your technical knowledge, coupled with others, is this a viable option?
