Re: New tires and average cost to buy and mount

That is like asking: "How long is my piece of string?" There are as many answers as there are people riding mc. Everyone has a view and an opinion. Take your pick. How much wear is there? On both the front and the rear, that will determine if they need replacing. Some people like the Dunflops 4, ot...

Re: Ride on seat cover

I use a sheepskin - very comfortable in hot and cold weather. But don't ever get it wet. A plastic sheet or ironing board cover works.

Re: Older Than Dirt Quiz

Before bottles, that was a new-fangled idea,we would put out a billy (a enameled small bucket with a lid), and when the horse drawn milk cart came around, at about 6am, he would fill the billy. The horse knew where to stop. This was in the WWii years, so fuel could have been in short supply. Also, ...

Re: SHORT LEGS !! - BIG PROBLEM ???

I have purchased a "Legs Up" device that puts two wheels down (like training wheels) when the speed is about walking speed. It may be a bit expensive but is a suitable solution to keeping it upright.

Re: rear master cylinder repair

Always use fresh brake fluid. Brake fluid attracts water which is not good for brakes, causes rust and boils off when the brakes are hot. Brake fluid should be changed every two years because of the water absorption.

Re: Air ride Bar pressure

Our tyre pressure is in KPa (kilo Pascals). And we use metric (SI) all the way. Except most air pumps show PSI, and some show PSI/KPa, while others show just KPa. We changed to metric in 1966, so just grin and bear what you have.

Re: Factory CB Retrofit KISS

I have an FM CB lodged behind the pax's seat. It operates as normal with the hand controls, and can be made to work through earphones in the helmet. I prefer to listen to the AM/FM standard radio while I am going along, - I live in the country.

Next thing you will be tackling is the timing belts. Better slow down, as you don't want too many things to do.

Here in South Australia, we are getting the effects of global warming and enjoying a burst of fine Autumn (Fall) weather with temps around 30c (about 85F) with little wind. It is a happy motorcyclist that loves the autumn.

Don't forget to change the brake and clutch fluid. If it has a life of more than two years, it is too long.

But your brake fluid should be changed every two years regardless of mileage. It gathers up water and will affect your braking ability

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "

Since I have been riding, only once did I not wear a helmet (all helmets have to be approved to Australian standards). That was back some years ago, and I had 98cc DKW 2-stroke. Well, I got pulled up at a police road block, and asked to produce my licence. I just got the thing, and had no licence. ...

They provide a pretty good write up on their web pages on how to fit them, so if anyone was to stuff it up, Redial is the man! I stil...
