Next thing you will be tackling is the timing belts. Better slow down, as you don't want too many things to do.

Re: Spring!!

Here in South Australia, we are getting the effects of global warming and enjoying a burst of fine Autumn (Fall) weather with temps around 30c (about 85F) with little wind. It is a happy motorcyclist that loves the autumn.

Hello from the deep South. A feature of the GW is the quiet - it is so you can hear the radio while you are going along.

Don't forget to change the brake and clutch fluid. If it has a life of more than two years, it is too long.

Re: Coolant question

But your brake fluid should be changed every two years regardless of mileage. It gathers up water and will affect your braking ability

Check that Michelin, because when I was looking, there was no Michelin that would fit. It could have changed, since I was looking.

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "

Since I have been riding, only once did I not wear a helmet (all helmets have to be approved to Australian standards). That was back some years ago, and I had 98cc DKW 2-stroke. Well, I got pulled up at a police road block, and asked to produce my licence. I just got the thing, and had no licence. ...

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

I have taken the plunge and purchased the "Legs Up" 'training wheels'. They should be here next week, so I will write a review when I have some experience with them. They provide a pretty good write up on their web pages on how to fit them, so if anyone was to stuff it up, Redial is the man! I stil...

If you are in there doing this work, don't forget to contemplate including a shift brace and oil seal to assist in your smoothness.

Re: Engine heaters anyone?

I found the green, again.
It is far too warm here to think about engine heaters. Perhaps 33c at 1030am is an indication why we do not need much heating, especially in our summer. Think warm, and enjoy the ride.

It's a bit late, but the weather here has been around 49C for the last two days, we are having a rest day today, as it is only 39C. I am still thinking of you all in the frigid north, and hope things get better quickly. Have a better NY, to you all.

"Legs Up" or Reverse Trike

I am at the stage in life where I still like to ride, but my strength is not good enough to hold the GW up, at 76 years young. I am ok on the Honda 250, but the GW is warning me off. I have thought of two alternatives, the Legs Up, or a Reverse Trike by Endeavor. I am on a fixed income (pension), so...

Re: 1985 Gold Wing Limited Altimeter

As it works on air pressure, you should know your altitude and the air pressure at that time of setting. Be aware of a high pressure (usually still air), and low pressure (when storms or rain). You should be able to follow the weather maps for your area to find a fairly neutral day.

Re: Trip To Big Sur State Park - Lee's Honda Redding CA

We are having a cool day, today, so I have had to put a pullover on to ward against the cold of 23C (about 75F). The grapes are just coming on the vines, so think of me in my shorts (not underwear), sitting in the sun and peeling the grapes that I do not eat whole! No white stuff here!
