Re: FS Front Fender 1800
I am interested in the front part of the fender for a 2002 Illusion Red Gold Wing 1800. Can you send a picture of it? The advertisement indicates that it is new, so it should be safe to assume that it has no flaws. Can you confirm that? Where are you located? The ad indicated a price of $100.00. Do...

Re: What should I watch out for?
Congrats Dean on your purchase, taken care of it should outlast you. All good responses above. As to the belts, as said, looking at belts is not a reliable decision. They can look brand new at 40 years old, yet the hardened rubber doesn't show the weakness and likelihood of breakage which is a bad t...

Re: 2014 gl1800 remote trunk release not working
Yes. The loops on the lid that go into the latch are out of shape or missing a/or a loose screw. The screw holes(plastic) sometimes get broken, usually overstuffing the trunk/bags and forcing the lids closed. If the loop is bent or worn, replace them. Speaking of the trunks. My 05 is showing on the ...

Finding those hydraulic surge brakes for the 8" wheels to retrofit will be like trying to find a specfic sliver dollar in 2' of silver dollars in the whole area of TX.

Re: Teardrop Trailer
What do you think about electronic brakes on a small teardrop camper.? Can you get by without elec brakes yes..... But....can you stop safely in an emergency stop a trailer of 400-500 lbs (empty plus gear) without it fish tailing which can throw the bike into uncontrollable directions you don't wan...

I can watch YouTube all the time on the app on my phone but with links to YouTube like this it says that I don't have the correct browser to be able to watch it. A bunch of crap.

Not sure if any are made specifically for our bikes but you could probably find something close at a trailer supply store.

Re: Teardrop Trailer
Depending on your bike, gl1500 and gl1800 will be able to pull it, 275 lbs is the wood plus the trailer frame which will put total up above 500 lbs, though I would suggest some extended mirrors at the full width they are with queen mattress width they are designed with. I like that clcboats trailer,...

Re: Teardrop Trailer
This is a CLC kit teardrop out of Maryland.
I thought I'd make a narrow one for me as I don't need a queen size as they come. Probably make my own plans or get their plans and modify them for a narrower unit.

Re: Highway "pegs"
Mic-O-Pegs for me too. No more leg cramps trying to flip up the kury pegs to ride the corners. They spring back up out of the way when you take your foot off.
kuryjunkan has now made some that spring up, but their chrome is still junk and with only a 1 yr warranty. I won't buy anything kury again.

Do a web search of escapade trailer broken axle and you'll see it has happened before.

Your not posting complete information on what wing this is on, getting an answer will be difficult.
Posting a picture of the shock might help too.

Re: High speed running problem
Have you changed the fuel filter?
Checked the air filter (critters love to store stuff in them)
Have you tested the fuel pump output flow, or pulled it out of the tank to check for rust/crud in the tank? Fuel pumps have been a weak point on the older 1500s.
