National Park Lifetime Senior Pass Cost Increase

Older people can expect a big jump sometime this year in the fee for a lifetime pass to visit national parks as part of a larger move to pay for major projects and enhanced services. The fee for a lifetime pass for citizens 62 and older will go from $10 to $80. The $10 fee applies to a pass purchase...

Re: GPS power connection

Sparks,

Look at your fuse box. It has a couple "open" slots. I wired my TomTom Rider to an open slot and GPS cuts and off with ignition. NOTE: I leave GPS "on" so when I fire up the trike it shows where I am at that particular moment. Serves as reminder to update route if needed.

Re: Operating GPS while moving, GL1800

I operate my TomTomRider while running but only make any changes at a stop sign/light or just pull over to the side of the road. Last thing I want to do is be a part of someone's tailpipe. That being said; I used one of the open positions on my fuse box and have the GPS hooked to that. The GPS is al...

Re: New wiring harness

I'm not that knowledgeable about wiring harnesses but I'd have a chat with your local Honda Dealer about the differences in Honda harnesses for the 2008. WRT to your trike kit, contact nearest dealer who installs the brand of trike kit you have. He can tell you, and may even be able to give you a co...

I've moved on from the GL-1100 and now have a GL-1800. The price is for ALL parts listed below. I WILL NOT sell parts separately . Price is contingent on...

Re: Go Pro Hero

I have the First Generation Hero and have a blast with it. I took one of the curved "stick on" mounts and placed it about 2 inches above the bottom of the center of my windshield. Made a goose-neck type camera mount from one of the kits and it has never resulted in vibrating moves. To ensure I have ...

Re: Wing Ding 38 via Alaska

I may be there for it but for the time being I'm in Whitehorse waiting for a starter for the trike. Been here a week and hopefully it will arrive this weekend or Monday. Think the delay is going to cut outs the Fairbanks part of the trip but will still have time to see Skagway before heading back in...

Will definitely give you a shout out if I do. Isn't Red Deer where a Canadian GW Rally is going held.

At the moment I'm sweltering in 100 F (110 Heat Index) in Omaha, Nebraska. Headed west to Portland, Oregon (if I don't melt first) up.

Thanks for all the information; most of which I already had.

And, I'm reentering the US from Calgary. Don't know where the "north" came from.

What to do with side arm when entering Canada

Don't know why I hadn't posted this question before, but what does one do with their pistol when they leave the U.S. and enter Canada. This is a trick question in that I'm entering Canada from the West Coast and reentering the U.S. north of Calgary. Would like to have it in my possession on the retu...

Fellow Squid,

Highly recommend you either take digitals or a video of what you do when you take it apart. Might make things easier when you reassemble.

Re: 03 Goldwing with 20K miles

I bought my 2003 GL-1800 trike February of last year from a gentleman in Missouri who getting out of riding due to medical problems. Paid $15.9K for it (17K miles on it) and it was worth every penny. Nicely maintained. I trailered it home and put 400 miles on it before the U-joint busted at the driv...

Re: Insta Motorcycle Tow by BillyBob1

Since I first started this thread I've abandoned the Insta Tow (or rather "gifted" it to a Harley owner). I am in the process of modifying a used automotive tow dolly to function as a trike trailer. Anyway, the current issue (JAN16) of Wing World's Workbench editor has a very good article that reall...

Re: GL1800 2008 very noisy gear change

The new "to me" 03 GL-1800 developed the same sounds you're describing after 400 miles. Then it quit on me (thankfully in town). Took it to my mechanic and initial diagnosis was bad u-joint. Turned out to be cracked drive shaft where it meets u-joint. Replaced drive shaft ($1K) ... problem resolved.

Re: Driver Heated Gear Plug

My 2003 1800 already had 3 plugs installed when I bought it this past April. Two are on the console on either side of the GW logo and a third one (for pax) is located outside the leftside pax boxes in the armrest. All 3 have spring loaded covers to keep them dry when not being used.
