Re: GL 1100 Emissions Hoses

What length of time would be good to check and drain this tank? Thats a hard nut to crack wally. As it depends on how much riding you do. if you ride a lot, then once a month would be a reasonable length of time to remove the tank and empty it.. The tank for my '83 1100 has been consigned to a box ...

Re: GL 1100 Emissions Hoses

The 1500 is worse. It doesn't have a tank, it just has the hoses with plugs in the end. You have to unplug the hose and let the gunk drain out. If the hose fills up - your air box gets wet. i'd be finding a way to let it vent to the ground... a length of hose below the frame... and when riding this...

I think there be a real market for bag lids and left side battery covers..seems like they are always in demand on eBay. I for one have never lost a left side cover... possibly? the demand for left side covers comes from owners not checking that the side covers are firmly put back in place. ?? As lo...

Re: GL 1100 Emissions Hoses

You Wont be able to tell by sight when it's time to drain the emissions storage tank. But you WILL know you gone past that time when you find what looks like water contaminated oil (yellow looking gunk) in the bottom of the air box interior. Remove it. Do a good cleaning of it.... i got tired of not...
