Re: Is Victor~Reinz Good Head Gasket?

The one thing that I would add is to re-tourqe the head gasket , I can't say when , but I know Honda said to do it when it was a new bike.

Well..... Fella's......   I went and took a hacksaw to my bracket, I took my own advice and now I shall never remove the bolts again, just need to loosen them and pull the seat up...No more cussing at the silly bolt for slipping out of my fingers and falling on the floor...Her...

It did take two hours for the cables, maybe it would be easier and faster to pull the faux tank.

Re: GL1100 I Seat Bolt

You must have knobs on the bolts to the shelter and you just remove the shelter right quick  , right Scotty? What's you're secret? Time to spill the beans there fella.... Most people remove the seat to remove the shelter, perhaps it's not so much about maintainance but more about when ...

Re: Removing the Pinstripes

When I did my 75 I tried a lot of things, what worked the best was a single edge razor blade. Scraping it off very carefully. if you slip ( like I did ) it is not the end of the world, just a little more filling and sanding.

Re: GL1100 -choke knob problem

the outer cable has a locking or sinching type nut at the top(under the rubber) and if you tighten it down it with hold the cable. it is in the owners manual.well at least I think it is there. Could be the GL1000 only.

Re: Gauge Swap Question

Guys, please don't shoot me for this as it is just an example. There are chrome covers available that fit over the black front covers. If you have to remove the rings this should hide any damage. This is from Saber-cycle so beware. http://www.saber-cycle.com/store/product446.html# That would work H...
