Re: GL1500 shift shaft stabilizer mod. No drilling.

...I am seeing this same oil leak around the gear shift. Before I read about the problem here I realized that there was a lot of stress on that seal. I am happy that there is a product out there to address this. Does anybody know if there is a distributed in Canada that sells the item? I find, at t...

F-M, Not a problem. I just wrote it as it was written on the bottle. It's a good product though. I also run Lucas 10w40 in my 99se Hannigan trike. Have a good day.

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

So I guess the owners manual caution against using car tires is just a conspiracy with the manufactures of motorcycle tires? I would be concerned about how they handle on curves. Anyone have feedback on that? I'm not a CD (Curve Demon) but I can attest to the Austone holding the road quite well at ...

I seen that but how you wrote it stated to use 10% mix, not use a max mix of 10%.

What tune were they singing? :P

I had to ask. Singeing was the word I believe you were wanting, but it sure looks odd with that "e" in there, doesn't it?
Auto-Correct seems to have a mind of its own.

Understandable about the leak potential.
Bonding really shouldn't matter since the moving parts are in suspension.

Re: Best glue for parts?

FYI for anyone who's having issues with body parts either coming off to easy or simply DON'T want to lose it. (the part), try this. Carry a small roll of crystal clear packaging tape. Once in place it's almost invisible. IF you can keep your fingers really clean your fingerprints won't show much. Or...

Re: 88 GL1500 dies when i pull clutch at red light

The vac lines look intimidating but can be kept under control. 1st, PICTURES! 2nd. Only disconnect the section your working on and move them sparingly so they plop back where they want to go. 3rd. Label with masking tape. 4th. IF you're snipping the ends for tightness, SNIP AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, th...

Re: Lucas oil stabilizer safe in Gl1500 engine oil?

Synthetic Delo 15w40 should work fine and should last a little longer. Hence justifying the higher cost. I'd use it but have a 20 gallon stock of dino-Delo due to "On Sale Now" promos. BTW: Mixing dino & synth is OK. I 😒accidentally used 5w20...wow the noise. Quickly changed it. That was over 100k m...

Any tool is only as good as it's operator.
..as long as the operator uses said tool correctly.
Had to add.

Eg: using a flat blade screwdriver as a chisel.
Wallering a hole larger with a drill bit.
Using a blow torch to light a cigerette (singing eyebrows).

I HAVE TO ADD a missed point.
I have not heard of anyone getting clutch slippage using it. But why take the EXPENSIVE chance, use it sparingly.

You were looking for info from those who use Lucas Oil Stabilizer in their Wings oil. I have been for about 6 years now in my 1991 1500. Started using it around 120k miles when the temps got near 100-F* I DON'T have a slipping clutch. I pull 1K+ trailers while using it. BUT, I use 1 - 2 oz only. Lik...

I HOPE your lights are what you expect. I've used several different LED headlights in several different LUMENS. One pair claimed 1080 Lumens. Didn't seem any brighter than the 780's. Broken abacus? :) Led lights give a wider scatter of light than halogens and "SEEM TO" be brighter. This brighter is ...

You have those 2 angled down rod supports that carries a good part of the load. It still had 3 points of attachment. Good to go until it's welded up. Just wiggle it on every stop. Carry a length of rope, JUST in case. :) I have a homemade hitch carrier and trailer(s), so I have choice of which to pu...

Re: Am I the only one who doesn't like backrests

Of course, to each their own choice. Mine was restricting me in the minute balancing of the bike. I'm on the larger side so the little movement I input/throw makes it rather easy to steer the bike without arm input. Passenger didn't like the tighter or caged feeling. I took out the backrest padding ...

I had something similar. Found it to be old stale gas. The fresh fuel partly cleared out whatever it was. SeaFoam works wonders. On another note but could be an issue. Re: All you need to know about the new 2018 Goldwing

A vacuum mold would be the middle ground of labor & costs. Test sales with feedback is king. Vac-mold is the easiest and least costly for mold changes. As I mentioned, until enough sales would be needed to warrant injection mold. What I'm reading is there's not as many who will buy this latest GL180...

Re: All you need to know about the new 2018 Goldwing

Larger doors/lids.
Being reasonably small, would it not be fairly easy to make a mold and produce out of fiberglass?
In time, maybe enough sales would warrant mold injection costs.

I try to wave every time, just camaraderie & courteous. When I see a waving HD rider approaching I'll wave the same way back. When one is low waving, I'll low wave back with my hand open.
