Re: i know where my bike keys are

Years ago, I had a spare "credit card" key made at the northern California AAA affiliate for my pickup after being locked out one too many times. The "key" fit in my wallet and so was always with me and came in handy a few times. Apparently they are also available at locksmiths, hardware stores that...

I guess pride goes deep and I can't figure out why someone has to be so petty. Sorry to vent guys. Bustedwing, you are right - Pride does go deep - true pr...

Re: Prepping Your windshield for Rain

I have used Plexus with good results, but not specifically for keeping the windshield clear in the rain. According to the website, it was originally developed for aircraft windshields and other surfaces.

Re: Where can you buy Saddlebag Stay Crashbars?

Have you tried a motorcycle specific salvage yard yet? I live in central California, and there is a pretty large one about an hour from my home. I am guessing there is one, or several in your area also. I am also guessing crash bars may be one of the items that do not stay in stock long. If you get ...

Re: looking to add upgrades ? ? ? 'S

My opinion on helmets is full face. That was reinforced for me when we got hit in January making a left turn, and the car behind me tried to pass us, on the left of course! I hit the ground face down and have no doubt there would have been major damage to the bottom half of my face if I had not been...

Re: Yellow wire 3 pin plug

Sorry, I have no picture (still waiting for insurance settlement to allow replacement of my bike, but that is another story. Anyway, take your battery cover off and the 3 wires are immediately in front of the battery itself, right under the seat. If there is a plug in terminal there, with three yell...

VTX

Welcome to the land of the gainfully unemployed! Everyone I know that has made it there absolutely loves it, and wonders how they ever found the time to go to a job.

I plan on joining you in retirement no later than February 2015, sooner if things work out.

ENJOY!

For a hidden gem in northern California you can give Russian Gulch State Park a try. Beautiful, small little gulch on the wild northern coast along Highway 1, just north of Mendocino. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=432 The link includes a picture and information, directions, etc. It also includes ...

Ditto on the Sena SMH 10 set. My wife and I had a set that worked very well. Sena also makes the SMH 5 - kind of a Chevrolet to the SMH 10 Caddilac. You can check out all kinds of reviews for communication at WebBikeWorld on the link below. Lots of information about every system mentioned in the pos...

My wife and I have started using vrbo.com (Vacation Rental By Owner) for our vacations. We rent a house where we want to stay. We can cook in and save a few bucks, or dine out. We have no neighbor right through the wall, etc. So far we have been very happy. Disclaimer - we are not owners on the site...

Re: And the Cage wins!

Got the accident report yesterday. Cause was basically an unsafe attempt to pass within 100 feet of an intersection. Driver says he did not recognize me making a turn or see my brake lights, only that I was slowing down and he tried to pass.

Now for the insurance companies to fight it out!

Now that is perserverance in pursuit of a ride! Way to go. Our family story about snow is a bit different. My grandfather, born and raised in Nova Scotia, heads out for a vacation to see relatives that had moved to the central valley of California. He was a farmer, so the winter was the only time he...

I have to ask. You went through this largely unscathed. What exactly were you wearing that saved you from injury? I want it. First, I truly believe we were protected by God. I really don't understand how one, or both of us did not end up under the car. If you want to know more about that, feel free...

Thought I could get out of their way, never expected them to cross the lane, apparently trying to pass us on the left! So last night at a City Council meeting (I work for the City of Merced) when speaking to the Police Chief, he put forward an alternative theory as to what happened - and the more I...

I hope you mend well and your wife understands its not your fault. Time heals all and hopefully it will not be long before you are back on the road. Yes, my wife understands. Thank you all for the kind thoughts! Since we were already in the turn, we bounced off to the left rather than getting pushed in front, and then under the car. No broken bones - at least nothing that showed on x-ray. I have a pretty sore or sprained right wrist that may show a hairline fracture late...

On Saturday, my wife and I lost a fight with a cage. They were behind us while we were turning left. I saw them in the mirror twice, and realized they were going pretty fast. Thought I could get out of their way, never expected them to cross the lane, apparently trying to pass us on the left! We hav...

Very cool video Beave! Especially since you are holding the camera too. Impressive! I am also glad to see that it looks like y...

I know you specified OEM, but this thread lists lots of aftermarket parts that will absolutely will cost less than the Honda branded parts and work as well, or perhaps better in some cases. Fuel filters, air filters, etc.
