Re: Running Light Speedo/Tach not working

Ok, pull the lights tail light fuse and replace with another known good fuse, sometimes corrosion between the fuse and the holder clips will stop flow. While the fuse is out check voltage across the fuse terminals with a test light or volt meter. If I remember right the saddle bags have green and br...

Re: 82 1100i Ignition switch

Ok, if the cleaning of the switch and greasing doesn't do the trick, I found some ignition switches. There was a post of 02/07/14 by wing admin on switches at JC Whitney. Still have them as of today,13 or 14 dollars that is supposed to do the trick. Part number is 12174G. Also CMSNL has 2 brand new ...

EMGO should have your switch and also J.C. Whitney had one also listed. Hope this helps.

Pro Honda spray cleaner and polish

Motorsport.com has the honda cleaner polish at 4.03 per can if interested. Last day they say. I did purchase a case and some other goodies to get free shipping at 79.00. It was only 7 dollars to ship the spray without the min. to OK. All kind of cleaning supplies. Just passing this down.

Washington DC and I-495

My sister has nominated me to take the new grandbaby trip to Easton MD. Ok, get the map out and I realized that out of the four trips to the east coast was on mostly 2 lane roads and this trip will be "on the slab" all interstate. We will be coming in on I-66 from I-81 to 495 to Us 50 to Md. For the...

Looks like the seat adjustment lever that goes on the left side of the seat and a Allen head bolt holds it in place.

Okay, sticking to the theme... A traffic officer was riding his motorcycle on the highway, trying to determine the cause of a huge slowdown in traffic. He worked his way up the highway, splitting lanes, until he finally got to the front of the line. There, he found an elderly lady, driving along at...

Re: 1982 Apencade 5a Ignition blows immediately

The 5 amp fuse wire should be a black brown wire and it goes down to the control box and then up to the 7v voltage regulator in the head light bucket( behind the front weight ) into a plug in. This feeds speed sensor and other warning lights. This wire should run along the frame ,around the steering...

Re: Front brake caliper Question, seals in my kits are too small

Did my own search and I found out that the left caliper is a 32mm piston and the left is a 24.5 so I guess Im going to have to see why the dealer ship couldnt find that information before I spent $57 on 2 kits instean of $20 for what I actually need. What a bunch of crap this bike could be happily ...

Re: Front and Rear Brake pads 1983 Interstate

Not much. Just be sure you don't try to pile up the extra wiring behind the bulb. There is a hole covered by a rubber or plastic plug on the right side (looking into the headlamp ) that you can route the wiring into if needed. You can spread the extra wiring around the area where the lamp is located...

May I suggest the pathfinder L.E.D H-4 rugged series 4000 lumens from Socalmotogear. This unit just came out and replaces the 2000 lumens which they still sell also. They will be in the Harley section of there site. The 2000 unit I have has been in operation for 3 years and no problems. They are a c...

Re: Front and Rear Brake pads 1983 Interstate

Remember this, rotors are hard to fine and are expensive. With that said I use pads from Honda. What ever pad you use be sure it is a soft pad so it will wear out and not your rotors. You can always find pads. By the way how did the head light bulb change go?

I was referring to the joke that cyberlon had posted and it did remind me of the I40 US75 problem which we have along with the other problems. It just brought my awareness level up to be prepared, head and eyes up 9 to 14 seconds ahead and to the rear. No joke here.

Lol Every time I cross the channel and go to France it's like that. The D8EA is obviously, at least 1978 technology. Has anyone had occasion to use the Iridium IX DR8EIX spark plug, which by the way is nearly 4 times the price of the D8EA spark plug, did you notice a significant performance change, and what would those changes be? Nobody seems to be answering that ...

Re: Spark Plug Comparison

I'm probably missing something here, but why would use a colder plug in a colder environment? Wouldn't it be the other way around? That's a good point, and I wasn't even thinking about that when I wrote it. That would make sense - in a hotter environment, you want a colder plug that removes heat qu...
