Re: What clothing do you wear

On first Trike we wore: HJC IS-MAX modular helmet (silver), leather boots with steel toe, leather gloves, jeans, First Gear Tex Mesh Hi-Viz jacket. We experienced a crash and the gear saved us from really bad injuries. In fact Emergency room doctor paraded our gear around the emergency room showing ...

Re: GoldwingHID HID headlight kit

I had the HID's installed at Wing Ding in Madison WI. I also had the high beam LED lights installed. They match the light intensity of the HID's. No issues with either.

Re: Need help with feedback on CB Radio

I hate to say this but I would get rid of the Bikemp3 CB. I did not have any luck and I will not use Nolan Ncom Bluetooth until something changes. I know the Honda CB is expensive but it cured my probelm.

Re: Need help with feedback on CB Radio

The problem I had was with my Mpbike CB and Nolan NComm Bluetooth. Nolan's setup allows for input into helmet but does not allow for CB transmissions. I removed the NComm and installed wired J&M intercom mic set for our helmets and that cured that problem. The other issue I was having was the volume...

Anyone using K&P engineering oil filter?

Anyone using a K&P Engineering cleanable & reusable oil fliter on their Gold Wing? A good way to save land fills and they are spendy.

Re: Need help with feedback on CB Radio

Interesting. When I had the Bikemp3 CB I had transmission problems with my Nolan helmet N90 & Nolan N-Comm Bluetooth. I was told that the plug-in on the helmet would receive but not transmit. I have since changed to wired J&M audio kit for my helmets, but my wife misses the bluetooth. She likes not ...

Re: bluetooth connections

If you have Nolan blue tooth helmets you can buy their N-Com bluetooth system. The rider will have to plug-in to allow the Gold Wing Intercom system to be heard by co-rider who does not need to plug-in. The one draw back is you cannot transmit on the CB using this system. I tried and all I got was a...

Re: Nolan Helmets

I thought I was getting the newest system for N-Com but apparently not, so if Nolan N-Com does not provide quality control then their loss. I just got to figure out what to do with my bluetooth system I have now. I also talked wiht another couple who have Nolan helmets with N-Com (non-bluetooth) and...

Re: Nolan Helmets

We purchased the Nolan helmets with N-Com bluetooth last December. From what I understood from Nolan was that if we wanted to go bluetooth the rider would need the intercom cable to connect to the Gold WIng Intercom system. This worked to hear the radio & CB however it does not work if you need to t...

Re: Seat pads

I had someone else do the back for the co-rider. The wife did not like the way it sat and it was not comfortable. The guy I know shaved the back down and re-designed the top of the back to cradle the wife. That was the best fit for her. Unfortunataly that back was on my 2007 and was not able to keep...

Well we tried the AMS gel pads and sent them back. They felt comfortable but rised my wife way to high for her. I will wait and send my seat in for the Wingsoft mod.

Good article from Candlepower.com. Tha's why we have these type of forums. It would still be interesting to get the legal opinion. The videos and other files from Candlepower.com is not working. I may just look at buying some of there H7 Osram Rally 65+ to better match my LED fog lights from Electri...

Re: Replacing my old GPS

I bought a Garmin 2460LMT with a ram mount for my GL1800. The probelm I have is glare from my jacket (high vis yellow). I have the intensity at 100% with a Glarestopper shield and its just about glared out, so still looking for solutions.

The owners manual states first check at 4k. The dealer recommended to me to change the oil at 800 miles which I did myself. Other than that I use the schedule outlined in owners manual.

Re: Finally Did It; I Bought A Blue 2012

Yes I did want to look at the Victory Vision. I was all set to take it for a test ride but my wife was not excited about the look. I have read and looked at some videos of them and really liked what Victory is doing. BMW has some good features as well but think they are more sport touring. Thought a...

Re: Finally Did It; I Bought A Blue 2012

I triked both of my Gold Wings after about 900 miles. I had a 2007 & now have a 2012 and they were somewhat different in handling. I do feel that the 2012 suspension, seat and forks are better than the 2007. A friend has a 2007 and had to put a brace on the forks to improve handling. He did ride my ...

Re: Seat pads

I had Wingsoft on 2007 Wing and that was a good mod to the seat however we now have a 2012. The 2012 seat does feel better compared to 2007 and just don't have the time plus funds to research/buy a custom seat especially with daughters wedding this summer. Our trip will start in June so not a whole ...

Re: 04 audio problem

We had a Champion solid axel and it rode rough. That one was totaled by the help of a pickup driver who got away scott free thanks to the legal system & laws. Last fall we bought a 2012 CSC blue/silver Viper trike kit. The ride is much better. They found the cause of my radio problem, it was bad a g...
