Re: Trunk and Saddle bag lights

I haven't taken them out yet, but I believe they are LED's Haven't seen what those actually look like internally..but would almost doubt that you would be able to replace an individual failed LED. Not sure if there are available replacements from Show Chrome. I actually used the OEM moldings and dr...

Re: Coolers

What I have is a cooler rack that can be mounted on my Bunkhouse trailer and then removed and attached to my Wing's hidden receiver hitch. This allows me to use the rack and take the cooler with me to get additional ice and supplies or carry firewood. I had the cooler rack modified to carry a sightl...

Re: using the CB controls on LHB for other purposes

Hi Rudi, I've got an 2008 GL1800 USA espec. and I use the CB controls to turn on/off the daytime running lights, low beams, and garage opener. The PTT switch is used to flash high beams. I made an circuit based in a microcontroller wich basically "hijacks" the signals in the system control matrix a...

Re: Think I found the PERFECT campground!

Don't forget to report on the campground and trip when you return! Really nice campground, most of the tent spots appear to be level, but the area is very rocky! Our site #5 was very close to a restroom without showers and the showers were about a 3-5 minute walk from there. Only bad thing I can th...

Think I found the PERFECT campground!

Decided to go camping this weekend and using www.dcnr.state.pa.us website I was able to find available campsites for the weekend. They have a nice feature that will locate available sites at multiple locations. For this trip we will go to Reeds Gap State Park. Reeds Gap State Park is 220 acres of wi...

Re: LED "bullet" lights

I had a similar set of those bullet light that had the same three settings. Very cheaply made and had to go in and repair one that had a bad solder joint. Unfortunately, one of the lens became detached and lost. Never looked at replacing them. Not sure if you can and just modify them for the differe...

Re: How to wire LED lights

Where are you wiring the LED's on the front? I had added side emitting amber and white LED strips around my headlight to give "eyebrows. The LED's were connected into the mirror lights to allow for the white to be running light and then turn amber when the turn signals go on. Waituntilthebeep did a ...

Re: Has anyone changes to LED Bulbs on Factory Lights?

One of the things youll also have to do if youre doing turn signals also is that youre going to have to get a electronic flasher. LEDs dont pull as much of a load as regular bulbs. So when you put an LED in it flashes a lot faster than a stock bulb. On mine I just replaced the brake light/running l...

Agree with the comments regarding changing to RED maybe the better option. Am curious, has anyone here change...

Thanks! I did look at those. Looks like a hassle to install. Do they just slide over the existing grips?
Very easy to install. Comes in two pieces (clam shell) and are secured with allen screws. Be sure to get the matching bar end weights!

Re: Speedometer

The speedometer on the 1500 is not electrical, but uses a speedometer cable that connects to the front wheel. Check your cable! That would also cause your turnsignals not to automatically turn off. Bad cable, bad!

On another Goldwing site, one of the members posted changing the radio light with LED and then also change out all the handlebar control lights with LEDs. BIG change in how the it all looks. Re: Motion Pro Bead Breaker & Lever

I needed to do a front tire on my 1500 so I decided to try this tool. I was not successful in breaking the bead as I was not sure how much force to use and didn't want to damage the rim. I don't like to force things so I ended up having a local shop do it. I need to do the back tire soon so maybe a...
