Re: WTB: GL1500 passenger seat backrest

Yes, I got it. Sorry for the delay, I need to find a box for shipping.
I hurt my shoulder Monday night, so spent most of yesterday in doctors offices.
I'll try to get it out today or tomorrow.
I'm replying to your PM.

Re: WTB: GL1500 passenger seat backrest

I have one that I just replaced due to a tear on the top.
If you are going to recover, it shouldn't matter.
It's yours for shipping cost.
PM me your details and I'll get it out to you.

Re: 96 Goldwing Fuse Block

Several, including myself, have added this power plate to their bike.
WingAdmin did a review of it here.
Another has come on the market through Cyclemax (here) that looks interesting too.
You might also consider adding a ground block, like this for the negative side.

Re: Phone Holder

I also have an android with an Otter box.
I used a modified belt clip and RAM mount to the right brake reservoir.
Phone clips in place and won't budge.
When done riding, just remove the phone and put back on my belt clip.

Re: New member with latch question.

One of my favorite expressions for my wife is RTFM (Read The Freekin' Manual) :D

You can find one that will pretty much fill your needs here, or by googling GL1500 owners manual. Just ignore all the results that direct you back to this forum.

Re: adding an extra 20 amp relay

The power plates that I referenced in your other post have their own 20A relay.
You could move your other accessories over to it to relieve the strain.

LED lights will definitely reduce the draw, but you may also consider adding a power plate like this one or this one

Re: totaled 1994 1500 se

You're right, they are lowballing you.
Refuse the offer and gather examples of pricing on comparable bikes.
It should be about replacement cost.

Re: WEIGHT

I think that most of these limits set out by Honda are on the "safe" side.
I also load up my 1500 with more than 408# and have no issues.
Remember Honda says that you shouldn't pull a trailer either, yet thousands do.

Just be aware that on many colors you need a base coat under the paint to have it match.
Also the clear coat. ColorRite will let you know.

Re: led question

Yes, they were working properly. I did make one mis-statement; the hazard lights work erratically whether I engage the left OR right turn signal. The other thing I've noticed is that pushing in on the turn signal button no longer cancels the turn signal(s). Try spraying some electrical cleaner into...

Re: Remove metal chrome radio cover

It's only going to be stuck around the edges, so you shouldn't have to worry about the buttons. If you use piano wire (or a guitar string) don't use one that has ridges or you will scratch up the radio face underneath. Then use a solvent to remove the glue from both pieces before applying new double...

Re: Remove metal chrome radio cover

I've had good luck "sawing" underneath with dental floss.
You don't want to pry it up for fear of bending it more or scratching up the plastic underneath.
You can also use a solvent like Goof Off to remove the adhesive.
