Re: Fifth gear

What year is your wing? Is their any noticeable oil on the floor under the shift lever? Without the heal/toe on lever is it " loose"? Excess play? If any of these could mean the seal going into the tenants need replaced. Probably worse case would be the fork riding on the team shaft could be wore. T...

Reverse cable adjustment.

Is their a tutorial or printed copy on adjusting the reverse cables on an 1800 wing? I've had right side cover off and observed the cables when button is pushed in and released. The bottom cable when reverse disengaged seem like it has excessive "play" in it. Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: Mice in Trunk

I agree witho moth balls and dryer sheets. In the winter months i spread moth balls around bike and when i go out to check on things i'll step on one to revitalise the smell. I put dryer sheets around the steering head.

Re: 2001 multiple issues all at once

Not quite the same but my reverse stopped working and it was in reverse when lost all power. Sat for 2 days in back yard then was suggested to run a underground from battery to frame. As soon as i made contact to the frame I heard the click for reverse and all lights came on. Don't know if it will f...

Mite sound strange but unhook your battery for about 20 minutes see if that helps. Some say to leave unhooked overnight. I tried that method energy cb was acting up. It worked.

Re: trike kits

I have a Road smith kit on mine. I believe it's second to hannigan. Liked the looks of it Moore than the others I looked at. As for any parts I may need they are off the shelf at auto stores. Pulled a wheel off to look at brake pads out of curiosity and they are very thick as far as pads go. The 5 g...

Re: EVER PARKED AND WORKED YOUR WING OUTSIDE?

When I had my 2000 1500 SE I didn't have anything to park it in. Sat out year around under a cover. I did get a portable garage from HF that I parked in. Now I have a gl 1800 trike that is parked in it. Measures 10'x 17'. Room to walk around and room for my trailer and bench I keep tools and such in.

Re: GL1800 Motor trike affected badly by wind

I would have to say that trikes are more prone to be blown around than 2 wheel bike are. I have a road smith trike and on windy days it does get blown sideways. The windier it is can wear you out keeping it going straight.the crown in the road is a factor also.on dead calm days the more crown in the...

Re: Wind noise

That's the right idea but the ones that comes up on Google are easy to big. They are more for video mics and such. I remember them being called cat ears. If you google dead cats the first pic are dead cats. I continue my search.

Wind noise

Some time back and don't remember how far back, looking for options to reduce wind noise. One suggestion was product called " cat ears " that go over the mic on headset. Look just as name suggests, furry ears on a cat. Has anyone heard of them and a link to go to for them? Had link saved on old comp...

Thanks for the info. Taking it apart is last thing I want to do. I can feel it try and engage and a few quick flips of button and it engages.

Reverse button

Lately my reverse has been slow to engage. Sometimes when I push button in and light comes on it doesn't always "move". When I click it in and out a few times then it works. Spray some cleaner in it and works first time. Does it need to be taken apart and cleaned/ replaced and how difficult is the j...

Re: Trailer hitch motorcycle carriers

+1 on one wheel towing. Good way to do damage to tranny. I take it you have a rolling rv home. I guess I could see a smaller bike for tooling around where ever you stop but not a big bike like a good wing. Sorry they are meant to be rode not towed.

I have a road smith trike but not the comfort kit. I'm 6'3" have a replaced left hip, 3 screws in my right hip from a fall in ice, and a right knee that needs replaced. I had a cushion from Wal-Mart to raise me up some then got a "purple cushion" on top of that. Purple cushion helps the back side ac...

Touch up direct can make the paint you need with the color number. They make the paint when ordered so no paint is sitting waiting to go out.

Re: How to mount Garmin Zumo 660

I mounted mine on the dash directly in front of me. I don't have to look away from the road just slite eye movement down to see the screen. The cords that came with the bike mount I put behind the meter panel shelter to the left fairing pocket. Worked out great.

I have been wanting to get my zumo gps able to be heard in my headset. The harness it came with has a 3.5 plug in that is tucked in under the left fairing pocket. I'm guessing it's there battery ground under the fuel tank. The ground I put in took care of everything. The tank has to come out to get to it. Sounds like a winter project.
