You will get it going. I should check to see what parts I have, though I probably will use them....some day.

Re: Why use the radio speakers

I use the speaks on my bike, always have. Why? Do not want anything directly in my ear so I can hear what is around me if needed. That being said, I should turn it down a bit....maybe ;)

Re: I'll troubleshoot that another day, must ride today...

It was good weather (sorta) in the NW this weekend....wife and I headed to the coast in the "cage" to visit peeps, pick up some stuff, and ramble on back. Believe my bike will be on the road next weekend, getting warmed up for the upcoming season ;)

Re: Bluetooth stereo system installation

I am currently building a 91 from the ground up. The only thing I need in a stereo is bluetooth. I can stream XM, Pandora, or my own music from my phone and don't want clutter on my bike. I have found an amp that up to 3 phones can bluetooth to, at the same time. My wife can control the music and I...

Re: I have returned to the best site on the web

Not to laugh at your account, but I am laughing. Rough thing is that my wife and I (54 and 53 in that order) are starting to give those "deer in headlight" looks trying to remember things....and then all we do is laugh. Welcome to many more years of braincells giving up on us, lol. Welcome back defi...

As Stew suggests. The heated element would go on top of the foam, directly under the seat cover. Otherwise, you will have happy warm foam but a cold butt.
Why did I laugh at that?

And what an idea, did not even thing of converting my seat to heated.....

Re: Where does one hang a gremlin bell?

When I bought my current (used) ride, I could not figure where the high pitch ring came from......lower right side on the case saver....UGH! Hanging on a peg board in my garage now where it belongs. Oh, and I have not lost any pieces yet (been 4-5 years)

Re: Are All Gl1500 seats/saddles the same?

What about going to an upholstery shop and getting your current seat form redone (new foam, new cover if needed)? This way you know the seat will fit for one, and you can match the backrest also. Just thinking of other options if possible. I am sure there are probably YouTubes that show how to do it...

Re: Highway "pegs"

Brian, post what you do since I am interested. I am 5.10 32 inseam, but I have knee issues and have always had cruiser pegs on all my bikes. This one is the first where I have the boards out front (flip up etc.) and though they are a bit high, I have been able to get used to them. I do not like wher...

Yea, we are all tilting our heads to the left (like when we talk to our dogs and they have that look) I have a hi-powered HID and love the spread, did not want to change it. Do like what you did with the markers though and will probably be looking at upgrades there for mine. Season is definitely aro...

Re: Don't believe it when they tell you....

I semi-believe if I am given shop records that I can verify, but 9 out of 10 times I check over and replace fluids, and basic maintenance replacement (though I do still need to do the timing belts....2018 will be that date, once the garage thaws out).

Re: Windbender windshield

I have a "2-piece" windshield also "Flip-It".....dig the thing. When I want a shorty, I just unscrew the top end and afix upside down inside the smoke section. Having both options (for me) really helps.

Well well, looks like you are already addicted.....good for you. Keep playing, it will only add a goofy smile on your face, of course different than the other rides you have had. I came from Cruiser background then flipped to touring and will probably never look back (unless I can add to my stable w...

Re: Motorcycle stuff for Christmas

I got a brand new Yamaha Super Tenere ES!! Will get rid of the 1800 wing, it's a great bike but after 10 years of ownership I wanted a change. Loving the Yamaha so far, very different from a wing!! Of course I now have to buy all the farkles (lights, GPS, mudguard extenders, etc) for the yamaha.. L...

I think we all have that problem....that was my prob last spring. Seems like one of those "if you have a hurt "there" and go to the doctor, the doctor will find other things for you to worry about along with the issue you originally had".......sigh

Re: Photo Tag ---Anyone want to play?

good thing there, here in Oologah, we have 4 police cars total. No motor officers at all. and it is so cold, the only place you can find them, is inside the doughnut shop, of which, we are blessed with one only. This should be easy for you then.....if they are all at the doughnut shop, right? I don...
