Re: Carbs rebuilt and synced

Thanks. I read through it. I'm trying to find someone besides a dealer to do some trouble shooting for me. I'm not up to ripping into it to be dissapointed again.

She is still not running right. Sluggish, and almost sounds like its not hitting on all 4. A little hiss on the way back down from 4000 rpm. Could it be timing?? Or did I trust the wrong guy to do my carbs?? Help please. 85,000 miles, and ran fine until it got some sand in the tank. Everything is ne...

Re: 1984 Aspencade Carb rebuild

PROBLEM SOLVED!! After a lot of tearing down, and putting them back together, I botle feed again, and still no fuel to any of the bowls. So, I determined that the float jet was not letting fuel in no matter how I adjusted the floats. So, I removed the washer that came with the kit (1mm) ANd did not ...

Re: 1984 Aspencade Carb rebuild

Been there done that. I think it might be the washer they sent with the float jet not letting the fuel into the bowls. I removed them, and now if I bottle feed in on the bench, I get fuel to all4 carbs. Next test is to see if the bike will start!

Re: 1984 aspencade carb rebuild

Thank you so much! We did disconnect the outlet from the pump, and cranked. It didn't seem like it was as strong as it ws prior to draining out the fuel tank and cleaning it out. The tank was not in that bad of shape. Just a little crusty at the bottom beside the line for the pick up tube. I vacumed...

Re: 1984 aspencade carb rebuild

Thanks alot! I hope this tells us somthing! I jut don't understand why only 1 carb is getting fuel. If that carb is set to low, my guess it will not flow to the other carb? I'll try to get some pics.

Re: 1984 aspencade carb rebuild

We didn't blow on anything. The new screens came with the rebuild kit. After cleaning the gas tank, the fuel pump seems weak. I wonder if I got somthing stuck in it? But When the fuel pump was stronger, it did the exact same thing. Anyone near Lima Ohio? lol I think we are going to try to bottle fee...

Re: 1984 aspencade carb rebuild

Thank you for the response! The guy who is doing this has worked on wings forever, but this is his first carb rebuild. He didn't want to mess with the bladders. We took one cover ov to check things, seemed in working order. As far as the plumbing goes, I'll have to make sure it is correct. I didn't ...

1984 Aspencade Carb rebuild

I just helped a friend rebuild my carbs. Before the rebuild, it started to act like it was running out of gas. after 30 years , its got to be dirty carbs. Well they were filthy, and I mean the guy said " I have no idea how this thing ran" Well, after all of the cleaning, new parts, and blood lol, it...

Re: Front fork air suspension setting

I have an 84 aspy, and if I shake the handle bars, and let go it seems to reverberate after I let go. Is this because of the weight of the front end, or somthing serious? She'll wobble a tiny bit when taking off on occasion. I dunno if its me, or the bike??

Re: Another charging issue question

Check the plug connnected to the selinoid. I just had to rewire mine. I was getting 12.5 volts at idle, before I noticed the plug was burnt. I found a rewire fix on here, and am now getting 14.5 volts at idle. VERY easy to do.

The rewire was a total success. Holdind 14.5 volts when at idle! It only held 12.5 before the fix. I also noticed the stereo was louder!
