Re: aftermarket stator replacement

I might add... that even with a new stator it is still best to solder the three yellow wires!!

Re: aftermarket stator replacement

It was recommended to me by a gentleman that had put a few in to use, Ricks Motorsport Electrics Stator - 21-102, I got it at Dennis Kirks... It puts out good voltage at idle and I have had it in there for 2 years now. I am by far no expert on them though....

Gas tank pressure

I started my 86 GL1200A this afternoon to go for a ride. Started great as usual and was idleing at about 1400 with the choke slightly on. I noticed it was a little low on gas, low light wasn't on yet, I didnt want to stop at a gas station right away. So I was going to put some gas in it from my can....

Re: 87 GL1200 aspencade, Air suspension system questions

There is an Aspencade model and then there is an Aspencade SEI, The SEI is fuel injected with other add ons also, the plain Aspencade is carburated. Again I am no expert though, I have the carburated Aspencade and there is not an auto leveling device on it. Maybe someone on here with more knowledge ...

Re: 87 GL1200 aspencade, Air suspension system questions

I am far from being an expert here, but I beleive the auto leveling is on the SEI and LTD models. And when riding solo I dont put much air in the shocks but when I got the gal on the back I do increase the pressure some in the shocks to keep them from bottoming out (dont tell her that ;) )

Re: Regulator Question

Thanks for the replies, you guys are correct it is the wrong regulator it only has 7 wires and I need 8. a lot of heat at the 8 wire connector to the regulator made me suspect it. But after seeing it would not fit I decided to check to yellow wires at the stator (I had not check them cause they were...

Tha...

Re: Another charging issue question

Thanks for the reply... All of my voltage readings were made at the battery post, all of the wire connections seem tight and corrosion free. The battery I have does not seem to charge well even on a charger.I am going to try a better battery and check the voltage again. Thanks again for your help...

Another charging issue question

Hi all, first post!! I recently purchased my first Goldwing, a 1986, very well maintained, Aspencade with 51,000 miles on it. I had to replace the battery which was no surprise the one in it was 5 years old. So after reading about charging issues with these I decided to check the voltage. I charged ...
