Re: The idiots are out there

Want fun? Try those stupid roundabouts with a 40 foot fifth wheel trailer with a 16 foot sailboat behind it. Never enough room to get into it unless you just go! :? If they try to put one in on my routes, it may get torn up overnight. :o Only idiots would install them. ;) Think I like them ? ...

Re: 1991 GL1500a Trike Will not start

Wish I had the book for that year model, but if the ground for the bank angle sensor is bad, it shuts down that whole circuit. On a 2000, the book shows that ground on the frame near the dipstick. Hope that helps.

And what size tire are you running? Makes a change in RPM that affects fuel mileage too.

I assume (you know what that means) that at this late date, he has it figured out. It could have also been that he had an open circuit if he was doing it correctly to begin with.

Re: 1991 GL1500a Trike Will not start

You may want to check out the ground connections. I had basically the same problem on my lawn mower the other day, and it turned out to be a bad ground. Battery connections may be great at the terminal, but be bad at frame. Also, why would the cruise lights have anything to do with it other than as ...

Re: Key not unlocking my trunk, key turns, nothing happens.

Just thinking about this trunk not opening. Is there any resistance when you pull the trunk lever? Is it possible that the rod clip has come loose or broken, thus it will not work? Does locking it keep the lever from moving? Got to be something real simple. ;)

Don't you just love it!

Don't you just love it when someone asks a question about a problem on their bike and then gets 13 replies. And then doesn't post a message that their problem was solved. That's so we can all sit here and wonder what it was that solved the problem. Notice that quite often it is a new poster, but not...

I don't go anywhere without my helmet and safety gear. Been on the asphalt twice and that saved me both times. All that other stuff was just for S&Gs. Safety gear comes first. ;)

Re: deer alerts

According to State Farms site, I happen to live in the least likely state to hit a deer, moose, elk. I sure wish the deer that keep running out in front of me would read that! I didn't look at Hawaii's stats. Very interesting info found there on their site. I think I will ask the land owners w...

Re: Auxiliary Fuel Pump Connecting Tube

I'm still trying to figure out what you think is an auxiliary fuel pump...? You are not talking about the unit that is in front of the fuel filler cap are you? That is a fuel solenoid, or auto fuel valve and the fuel filter is to the right.?? :?

Re: Directional/Hazards headaches

Check for connections under the rear of the saddlebag that is not working. Pull the two small chrome clips and there are two screws to remove that cover. Note that there is a little tab towards the center when reinstalling it. As for the left signal indicator, it is quite likely that bulb may be bad...

If it was taken in on trade, I assure you they have all the previous owners info!!!!!!! 1. Yes, drain hoses 2. Photo cell is most likely for a modulator, which was either removed or is not working! Was the bike running and the headlight on upper beam when you checked the switch and sensor? Thanks D...

Re: Is this a Problem

If you get a spare wheel, you could get your new tire mounted and when ready to change out, all you need to do is lay the bike over and swap wheels. 1800 is much easier than a 1500 rear tire change. Try maybe a trike shop for a wheel. Will make them much easier in the long run. :)

Is it me, or is that a take off of the Wind Bender wind screen? Looks very much like the one that my son has on his 1800. I rode his 1800 to Colorado this summer , and is amazing how little wind buffeting you get from it.

Re: How to rebuild your front master cylinder

Take some tin lead solder and mash it into the groove till it is full. File it till it is the same size as the shaft. Seal should slide over it. Use a large size solder to fill the groove. Use this method on aircraft struts, should work here too.

Don't know too much about scenic route, but old route 17 runs most of your trip. Did your mechanic replace the timing belts? Do you know when they were last changed? Could be very expensive if this was missed in maintenance.

Kinda looks like your engine is a 90 model. 89 started with 2100101, 90s started with 2200101.
