What to look for when purchasing an 1800

So I have a guy wanting to sell his 2003 1800.... Has 70K on it and looks perfect except it is due for tires. . Always garage kept and maintained by Honda. Are there certain things to look for at this mileage and year? He wants 9900.00. Thoughts guys??

Thanks!

Just curious as to how many miles you got out of your first stator?

Re: Tires for 1987 1200 interstate

I'm curious as to how they wear? I've read good and bad reviews of them and never could quite get a "miles per tire" report. It is good to read that you like them. I'm rolling on Shinko 230 Tourmaster front and rear.... I keep 38psi up front and 40psi in the rear. Love these tires for ride comfort ...

Re: How important is keeping it stock

My 2 cents.... I too am one for keeping my old girl stock. I "show" my bike every time I leave the garage as I am a freak when it comes to polish and wax. I have always wondered how all the extra lights, chrome and gadgets affect the ride and handling as the frame, suspension and electrical systems ...

Re: 1200A overcharging..... HELP

Hey Virgil.... I was able to clean up the connector and now I read 14.7 pretty consistent. A little high but do you think that is ok? I will cut and solder this winter.... Also do you know where the Radio is grounded? Having an intermittent problem. Thanks

Re: 1986 gl1200 aspencade radio

I have had a similar problem except when mine wont change stations none of the preset station buttons , or any other buttons for that matter will work.... Then randomly it will work. I suspect a ground issue as well.. Can someone pinpoint the ground mentioned earlier in this post? Thanks

1200A overcharging..... HELP

I recently discovered my bike is charging TOO good. With 3 different meters I am getting 15.0 volts at the battery...1500 to 2000 rpm and up... I checked and cleaned the regulator plug but still the same. Not sure where the actual ground is for the regulator. I suspect that is the issue or the regul...

Re: Aspencade passenger floor boards....UGLY

I agree admin... But when I go for a ride solo my wife insists that I fold them up which is the universal symbol for "No other women riders" haha. I just found a set used on eBay so will see how they look. I will post pictures! Are you saying that if you ride around with your passenger floor boards...

Aspencade passenger floor boards....UGLY

Hey guys... So my bike is in beautiful condition but one thing has always bothered me. When you fold the passenger boards up the underside seems so unfinished! Does anyone have a lead on polished or chrome covers for the underside? It seems to me that way back when I managed a Honda shop that there ...

I put the Shinko 230's on two seasons ago and they are awesome... Probably get a couple more months on them before I change them out and I will be getting the same. 8-)

Re: Panasonic RM1100 Radio-Cassette

I sent mine to Sierra last Fall after the riding season and got it back in 10 days and works like new! 125.00 included shipping. As long as the problem is in the radio and not the bike of course...

Re: 3 yellow wire fix

Doing mine was simple... The wires were all in good shape and I had plenty of slack to solder the existing wires together. You just need to cut the wires as close to the plug as possible. No extra wire needed.

Yes indeed.... Snow and ice last night and salt on the roads. Once the salt comes out the bike stays in! :(
