Re: 2003 1800 full face helmet headset

another option is Edsets. You can reach them thru their website at: http://www.edsets.com/index.php

They don't list a phone number but you can email them if you have additional questions.

Re: After market seats or saddle

The Russell Daylong is my choice if you plan to ride a lot of miles and long days in the saddle. My second choice but way down the desirability scale is the Bill Mayer.

Re: HANNIGAN TRIKE SHOCKS any ideas

You might get the specs on the shocks they are trying to sell you and take the specs and a shock to NAPA or other parts store and see if they have something identical or better. Might be a little cheaper!

Re: Niagara Falls to Cape Cod?

Make sure you plan a time for your trip to Cape Cod when the tourist traffic will be low. If traffic is heavy it will detract from the ride.

Have fun!!

Re: Battery relocate to trunk??

Why would you want to alter the location of that dead weight from the lower area to a higher area?
Too many negative effects on handling which can also be a safety thing!

Re: semi-synthetic oil

I would be concerned that the weight of the oil meets cycle manufacturer and that the oil meet other certifications it requires such as JAS.

Honda makes or has ade to their specs a semi-synthetic that has worked well in my GL1800 for over 120,000 miles.

Re: Heartbroken...rust

I certainly agree with cihib that it is possible for a cover to cause the problems as noted but I would only discuss that if the dealer brings it up, if the dealer and Honda refuse to fix the problem then if the cover was used per manufacturers discussions, I would chat with the cover maker referenc...

I certainly would contact the dealer and try to have the parts replaced under warranty. If he is hesitant to try, contact Honda directly.

Re: Another Newb question

When getting a new/used bike up to snuff, I tend to check just about everything you can get to. And change all fluids, oil, fork oil, brake and clutch fluid and so forth. Then for the first few weeks, keep a very close eye on the fluids and tires. As I ride the bike more and begin to trust it I tend...

Re: The idiots are out there

I remember when the wife and I were in the UK on rented motorcycles. The first roundabout was intimidating but of course driving on the wrong side of the road only added to the problem. But I got thru that one and several more before we arrived on their big highway outside London. When we finally go...

Have you contacted J&M customer service to see if they have a solution?

The next place I would check would be with Edsets and then Air Rider.

Re: 2nd Annual Gathering - 2018

Based on the above posts, it seem obvious to me that we should start a thread for a 2018 Gathering East and one for a 2018 Gathering West! This would allow for planning and input to be location specific and maybe even increase involvement. I would strongly suggest that they be well separated by time...

Re: Looking for referral -> Carborator Repair/ Rebuilding

swr1977, I have not used oldschoolcaarbs as I have never had a set rebuilt. I do know several folks who are pleased and the owner did a video with Jay Leno praising his work. Pistol Pete does excellent work according to all that I have heard. If you can find the info on Mike Nixon down in AZ, he is ...

I am new to Goldwings and I need to know what oil to use and more importantly, where to check and add the oil? I know this sounds dumb but the only place I can see an access plug is behind the cylinders on the right side, and it looks like the transmission to me. I don't want to screw something up....

Re: GL1500 Bike and Tire Load-Rating, & Radial vs Bias-Ply

Most of the tire manufacturers have their own website where they list the tires by the bike they fit and then there are spec sheets that give info about the tires. If there is something in a spec sheet you don't understand, the answer can usually be solved by contacting the manufacturer or look it u...

Re: 2nd Annual Gathering - 2018

It is never too early to begin planning. Dates for such an event are better decided as far in advance so those not retired can plan their time off. Just to get the minds going fall is a great time but in many places you do have folks in RV's and such looking for the turning leaves. Late spring on ot...

I would like to remind folks that there are a lot of fun things to see in the Hocking Hills. This is a very short list of stuff available: Hocking Hills...
