Re: Brake light flasher

Other than looking a bit complicated for my feeble mind to set up, I like this flasher set up and in my case, I would just wire it to flash my spoiler light. Just a FYI, on my bike, I wired the spoiler light as a brake light ONLY, so making it flash too would really grab your eye I think.

Re: Pass. foot peg mounting

We have some like that on our bike, and the wife, all 4'8" of her, LOVES them. She can not quite reach the factory floor boards, so those give her a nice solid footing while we ride.

Re: It's time to replace . . .

That is a good start, and will be helpful, but my feeble brain needs to know how to get in to there, and how to "break" the chisel bolts and what to replace them with too.....
I am just going to replace my switch, but after doing so might just open her up to see what I find in there too. . . .

It's time to replace . . .

Hey all, it appears to be time to replace my ignition switch on my '96 Aspencade. Does anyone have a good step by step, preferably with pictures, on how to do this ? The reason I am replacing the switch is : 1) the key can be removed from the switch while going down the road, and I have lost one set...

* SOLD * SOLD * SOLD * SOLD * Well, life has stepped in and smacked us hard, so I need to raise some bill money. On that note, I am offering up my trailer for sale. I am told it is a NEOSHO from the 80s or so, it is HUGE at: 9 foot over all. 2.5 foot tongue the box measures 6 foot 7 inches long , b...

Re: Stereo Question

Very cool, I will have to TRY to remember my user name and password so I can get it. Thanks for the link and the PDF It took approximately 15 days to prepare them. You will find all of the diagrams given in the 94 service manual, and use them for 93-2000 models. Note that 88-89, and 90-92 models ha...

Re: Stereo Question

The wires in the OEM connector are as in the picture. In my opinion the wire colors will not match with the connector you will buy. Looking at all those pretty colors, I really need to get a FSM, SOON ! LOL I guess it will take a bit more research to figure out what wires I will need and what ones ...

Stereo Question

Hey all, with all the discussions about aftermarket stereos being used on our GL1500s, I THINK I saw a reply that included a part number from Metra maybe, that was a car stereo wiring harness adaptor that fit our bikes with like one wire out of place. I think it was for a Honda car, but I do not rec...

Re: Wing Ding Grapevine TX

GWRRA did a little negotiating. If you are staying at the Gaylord Texan, there is a $10 parking fee in addition to your room cost. That parking fee has been negotiated down from $18.50/day to $10.00/day. As you likely know, this caliber of a resort is usually well over $300/day plus resort fee plus...

Living as close as you do Gary, it would be worth the entry fee just to see what it is all about. Here is the registration website: http://wing-ding.org/#pricing $45 for members. $55 for non-members. About parking: For those who are not staying on the property (perhaps staying at another hotel or c...

Re: What's wrong with this picture?

The biggest thing I would be concerned with is this being a scam. I found a GL1800 that was listed on CL for $1500 , then found the same bike (even the tags matched) listed from a different city for the same price. Only contact info they offered was a CL-Email address. If you try to do this, take a ...

Re: Some Sound no Stereo

If cleaning the contacts does not help, but wiggling the plug does, you MIGHT have a loose connection where it is soldered to the board INSIDE the stereo. best of luck and keep us posted.

Re: 96 Goldwing Fuse Block

I picked up the factory fuse box from a 1984 (I think) GL1200 at a swap met for a whole $2.00. I have not added it to the bike yet, but it will either get strapped to the battery, if it fits there, or will be mounted under the seat. the one I got is a blade style fuse box , not sure if other year GL...

Re: 1989 GL1500: Dunlop Elite 4 OR Bridgestone Exedra

I have a E3 on the front and E4 on the rear of my bike, after about 10K miles of riding in all kinds of weather, I am NOT impressed with the E4. It does not grip wet asphalt well in my opinion and I do not feel secure riding in the rain like I did when I had a E3 on the rear. With the E3, I could "g...

Re: Wont start

Top relay/solenoid clicked fine, fuse on it was fine etc, bottom one was/is dead . . . . was both bike, and then bench tested. I did find a aftermarket solenoid today locally for $40, got it and will install AFTER the sun goes down and the heat goes somewhat away. . . . it was/is a HOT bugger today.

Re: Wont start

Does not appear to be a broken wire as Erdeniz Umman suggested, thank goodness ! :D The "B" relay is shot, and it does in fact has 4 wires total, 2 thick and 2 thinner. When I bolted the two thick cables together, the bike fired right off, so that answers that question. Now to find on at a REASONABL...

Nice trailer. Good job. Question however. Is there a support for the center of the tent? Wondering about water collection when it rains.
GREAT LOOKING TRAILER ! I second Ding Dongs question. . . . . how is the tent supported ?

Re: Wont start

Okay, here are my findings to this point : 1) Fuse at top relay was/is good 2) Only found one fuse there, mounted right on the relay 3) Power does go down to the lower relay 4) At bottom relay. one thick wire/cable (with blue boot I believe) does power up when starter button is pushed, but second th...

The bike is a 96 Aspencade, and are you talking about the fuse on the side of the top, by the battery, relay ? I will check it out when I get home.

Wont start

Okay, starting yesterday, the bike would not start. I did hear clicking, so I checked the following : 1) top relay by battery WAS clicking , physically felt it. 2) lower relay was NOT clicking, physically felt (didn't feel?) 3) jump starting the battery had no effect, still did not start 4) bypassin...
