Re: Cruise Control problems

Thanks for all the info I'm storing it away in case of future problems. Having been in the motor trade for fifty years I sympathise with the technicians point of view but not everyone is rolling in cash. You should always put the choices to the customer, with your recommendations, and let the custom...

Re: Cruise Control problems

The throttle cancel switch was faulty. Honda said do not to take it apart replace it, but as I'd just paid an eye watering sum to Honda for a new handlebar switch I stripped, cleaned and rebuilt it. It now works fine, I can't see why Honda insist on replacement. I tried the bike out this afternoon a...

Cruise Control problems

The cruise control didn't work when I bought this bike, the warning light bulbs are good the system switches on but will not set. Having had to dismantle the right side of the fairing in the fitting of a new r/h handlebar switch I thought it would be a good time to fix the cruise control, looking at...

Re: All you need to know about the new 2018 Goldwing

All we need now is for someone to buy one and give us their honest opinion.
Even if I had the cash I think I'd wait until they've been in production for a while in case there are any bugs that need ironing out.
Nice to see girder forks back in fashion.

Re: 1988 gl1500 fuel volume

I've been checking mine tankful to tankful for about the past year and, even lugging a sidecar, I'm averaging 39-40 mpg (Imperial gallons). Best 44 worst 37. Fuel gauge is just a piece of on board entertainment. I go by mileage and fill up after 150 miles for peace of mind and 180 if needs be. Sid I...

Congrats on your new acquisition. I hope your first sweetheart doesn't get jealous of your second.
I like the optomistic "ready for fine weather riding". If it's fine weather you want I'd leave it where it is. :D

It's from France.
I didn't photo the plates on the other two as it meant standing in the road, not a sensible thing to do in Sicily.

Sicilian Wings

Just got back from a great week in Sicily (not on the wing very sad to say), plenty of sunshine , no rain but a lot of walking, mainly up and down steep hills. Saw three Wings while I was there, the "hill" behing the red one is the top of the volcano Mount Etna, sadly dormant though the locals like ...

Re: New member from Belgium

Greetings from the UK.
If you don't know how old the cam belts are you should consider changing those. If a belt breaks it is very bad, and expensive, news.
Not a difficult job and this website tells you how (and much much more).
Don't forget to post a picture.

The National Motor Museum, https://www.beaulieu.co.uk , took the best part of the day to get round. Pity we didn't take a bit longer then I wouldn't have had to go to a shopping mall afterwards.

Been so busy I haven't had time to post 'til now. Last week I increased my chances of being "Museum Visitor of the Year" by visiting not one but two museums, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. Not sure they count for this website because the missus came with me so ...

If the engine needs a lot of new parts it would probably be cheaper to get a second hand unit.
I've done a couple of basket cases, should keep you out the pubs (or drive you into them) for a bit. very best of luck.

Re: What's Happening Today?

Hi Dave, It's a good job George knows his stuff as there was no information board by the aircraft (about the only 'plane that hadn't got one) and it's not listed on their website. Perhaps it had just arrived on temporary loan. I didn't photograph it from the port side because there was a pile of pol...

Re: What's Happening Today?

I'm on a museum roll just now. Today I rode the Wing to see the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden, Bedfordshire ( www.shuttleworth.org ). It's mainly a collection of vintage aircraft but there are also old cars, motorcycles, steam vehicles and buses. All the aircraft are maintained in flying con...
