Re: Additional Lights - Need to be seen

I've run LEDs in the side vent grills, added LED running lights under the headlight, put LEDs in all of the side reflectors, added under bike lighting for at night, and changed all the rear lights to LEDs, as well as having the lights in the lowers on all of the time. In talking to cagers, the bigge...

Re: BATTERY CELLS GOING DRY

A hole in the battery will drain it too! Give it a good look and make sure nothing is rubbing the battery itself. I'd put money on the voltage regulator/alternator though.

Re: time to replace the tire

As the others have said, an internal patch would take care of the nail hole. I'd be concerned about the crack-me, I'd replace the tire.

Re: Isle of Man time again

Watching those guys calmly winding their way around curves as if they were enjoying a 30 mph ride in the park - while the bike wiggles, jumps and wheelies beneath them, at 180 mph, inches away from stone walls...I have no idea how they do it. The true meaning of Death Defying. It is a shame that so...

Re: DEFINE; Biker and Motorcyclist

Definitions of Biker and Motorcyclist taken from 'The Minimac Book of Opinions':
Biker- in it for the "Look at me and my machine"
Motorcyclist- in it for the pure "joy of the ride", no matter what it is ridden, on two or three wheels.

If you can get past the Brit accents of the announcers, Velocity has been carrying it all week @11pm eastern. I love it when they do some of the interviews with some of the racers. I can't understand more than a word or two!

Re: Rain Gear

I carry a set of Nelson Rigg rain gear. Great protection, light weight, and you don't get wet from the inside-out. Not all that expensive, either. I've had this gear for over six years now(and haven't "outgrown" it!) The cheap-o Chinese rainsuits, even though I considered them a one use throwaway, w...

Re: Isle of Man time again

That's because of the configuration of the shifter linkage. Think of it similar to a heel-toe shifter without the toe part, and you'd have the same action.

I think that's a nice clean looking machine with super low mileage.I hope that you get very close to what you're asking. While others can't say much nice, I'll give your ad a bump up, to show that not all on this board act like jerks

Re: Cell service around Lake Superior

While I'm looking to switch my carrier soon, I have Verizon. I did a trip around Superior a couple of years ago, and although there were a few spots that I didn't get coverage, I had a lot better coverage than my riding buddies that had AT&T and Sprint.

Re: Welding Plastic

I've done a lot of plastic welding(as well as metal) professionally during my career. Although welding metal is similar, there are subtle differences. I have found that the hot air guns(with various tips) work much better than soldering irons. While most can get stuff to stick together, it takes a l...

Re: RIDING IN THE RAIN.

I have a set of Nelson Rigg raingear, that's the best I've found. You don't sweat to death and steam in your own juices, while keeping dry. I always wear a full face but have found when keeping it opened slightly, the rain comes in from behind! A minor irritation, though. Also, the water beads up on...

Liquid shoe polish! Apply liberally and while still 'wet', wipe it with a clean rag to even it out. Multiple coats can be applied and then when dry, spray and wipe with any protectorant, i.e. ArmourAll.

It's probably a good idea for everyone else to search the site and find how and where to strap down your ride if the need should ever arise. I was fortunate the one time I needed to be flatbedded (due to a cracked valve stem) off of the interstate, that the driver was a motorcyclist also and knew wh...
