Re: black dash trim treatment

Liquid shoe polish! Apply liberally and while still 'wet', wipe it with a clean rag to even it out. Multiple coats can be applied and then when dry, spray and wipe with any protectorant, i.e. ArmourAll.

Re: Scary towing experience

It's probably a good idea for everyone else to search the site and find how and where to strap down your ride if the need should ever arise. I was fortunate the one time I needed to be flatbedded (due to a cracked valve stem) off of the interstate, that the driver was a motorcyclist also and knew wh...

I have to agree with Dingdong. Been married (this time) for 37 years. If I had to file a missing persons report on her, there's no way I could even guesstimate.

My one year old ( 5 year old born-on date) Avon Venom 160/80/16 is cracking in the sidewalks already. Lots of tread left and I have done my share of spinning it at take off and second gear. 1DAC25DA-D71D-485C-944C-A387F66D57A0.jpeg80C2852D-602A-4829-AFE9-909E952D230A.jpeg8DF83D81-9B44-4A77-A9C5-FFE...

Re: What do you think of this bike?

Pulling the wheels is easily accomplished with not much more than a scissors jack and some wood blocking. The tough is part is getting up from kneeling or sitting on the driveway! I'm an old retired guy, but I prefer to what whatever I can of my own maintenance. I won't tackle my carbs either, but I...

Re: What do you think of this bike?

Do you want to ride, or put it in a show? Rattle can paint can give you a great 5mph/10 foot paint job. Changing oil and gas is an easy D.I.Y. driveway project. The same with flushing the brake lines. Being a mechanic, changing tires one at a time is easily accomplished. Remove the wheel yourself an...

Re: satellite radio

I have used an old Roady XT for the last ten years. I just use the suction cup mount and a cassette adapter when on the Goldwing, and the same mount and earpad speakers in my helmet when I'm on one of my scooters. It easily transfer to each vehicle and like Wingadmin, stows away easily when parked. ...

Shouldn't get angry with the dealer. They didn't make it, and they didn't install it. They were just the middleman. How hard would it be to cut and reweld it where it needs to be? At least it would be right for your trip.

Re: Busted lower cowls

There are many bike dismantlers that have those for sale. You may be able to even match the color-or be really close. Before buying different lowers, I'd try patching with thin ABS sheet and ABS cement, as suggested. You've got nothing to lose! I order the sheet online and if I can't find the ABS ce...

I've been a happy customer for over eight years using the ceramic beads from Checkered Flag. After going to the balancing beads my tire wear is even across the front tire-no cupping on the left side at all.

I would get it in my Yahoo mail anywhere from 2-5 days later. I took the advice as Wingadmin posted in the ANNOUNCEMENTS and changed my email contact for this site to an old excite address I hadn't used for quite awhile. The newsletter goes through with no problems.
