Re: Corbin Seat for GL100

Sorry I was traveling. Here are some pictures. This seat was made to hold the Corbin backrest that I did not purchase. The silver lever you see in some of the pics is to hold/ release the drivers backrest. It does not touch either the riders or pillions legs while riding. Thx ] CB328870-101A-42BB-B3...

Headlight Harness Question

I am going to replace my H4 bulb with an LED bulb from Cyclemax. The harness has to extra wires with what appear to be female bullet connectors. One is green and comes from the same spot as the green wire on the H4 connector on the harness. The other wire in the harness is orange (maybe red, I can't...

Replacing Coils on an GL1100

Is there a "how to" or another thread that describes how to replace the coils on a GL1100?
I am planning to use Accel coils. Has anyone used that brand? Any tips or tricks I should be aware of?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: How to rebuild your front forks

I just followed this procedure for my 1983 Interstate and it turned out great. I purchased the special tool for removing the fork caps. My tubes area 39 mm and the tool was a bit loose so I used a section of bicycle inner tube to take up the slack and that worked fine. I used Racetech springs and ca...

Signal Flasher Location

Forgive me for a silly question. Where is the signal flasher located on a 1983 GL 1100? I would like to upgrade to led signals and I can't seem to locate the existing flasher to replace it with an electronic model.
Thx

Self Cancelling Signals with Electronic Flassher

Hi: I tried to search previous threads without any luck. I am planning to convert turn signals and brake lights to LEDs and use an electronic flasher as outlined elsewhere on the forum. Thank you to all contributors! My question is; will the self cancelling signal feature still work on my 1983 Inter...

Re: How to rebuild your front forks

Forgive me if this is a silly question.
When you reinstall the schrader valves, do you need to add air? If not, what is the point of the schrader valves?
This is an excellent how to article and I appreciate how much effort you put into all of them.
Thank you.

Re: NGK spark plug caps

What model of plug caps did you get? I have an 1983 GL 1100. When checking here and other places I get mixed messages that the plug caps for early 1980 / 1981 are different than those for the 1982 / 1983' s. I have a part number from the NGK Canada website that says the cap model # is XD05FP for all...

Starter GL-1100 1983

Hi: My first post! Sometimes my starter works just fine. Sometimes when I press the start button I just hear a "whrrrr" kind of sound and the engine does not turn over. I let it sit for a few minutes, try again and it works. What might cause it to only work intermittantly. Any advice is much appreci...
