Re: Rattle Trap

As somebody mentioned above, an occasional shot of silicone spray keeps them soft, supple and "grippy" as well.

GREAT suggestion, and thanks m2102!

Wanted To Buy

I recently purchased a new-to-me 1998 Goldwing SE trike. As I was cleaning it up , I noticed I was missing a chrome plug that falls between the diameter of a nickle and a quarter that covers the mounting screws on the front rotor. If you might have one laying around and gathering dust, I would be mo...

Re: How to replace your cruise and sub air filters

A previous poster asked the question: "Is it really necessary to oil either one of the two filters?" I couldn't find an answer before the thread ended in 2015. Is it possible the oil could be deteriorating the foam rubber? Not to dig up old bones on an old forum, but I felt that was a GOOD question....

Mighty Max Gel batteries

Likely in need of a new battery for my 1998 GL1500SE battery and was wondering if anybody has had any experience with Mighty Max gel batteries? I have heard that gel batteries are the way to go and I thought $74.99 shipped wasn't too bad a deal.......... http://www.amazon.com/YTX24HL-BS-Battery-Hond...

WTB: Saddlebag Guards....Wisconsin

Thought there might be a pair of chrome saddlebag guards for a GL1500 laying on somebody's shelf collecting dust. These would be the chrome pair that adhere just behind the passenger heal on lower front of saddlebags. Give me a holler if you might have a pair and thanks! WingAdmin, You wouldn't have...

I'm sure postage/handling would have been more than the $25.00 cost of the guards if shipped the USA. Could be mistaken however

Re: Shell oil/Seafoam/Wet Clutch

The reason I use Rotella (A Shell product) T-6 fully synthetic diesel oil in my GL1500 is that both on the low as well as the high outside temperature reading, a Goldwing's operating temperature varies only so slightly due to being water cooled. I get the cold weather viscosity/lubrication of a 5 we...

Just Got Around To Trailer Wiring

I purchased a '98 GL1500SE end of this winter and just got around to getting the trailer lights in order. This is a picture of the 5 pin (plus ground) presently on my bike: trailerplugcopy.jpg I can't be sure if this is wired to a isolation unit or just a "plug-n'-play" connection. Is there a way to...

Darn hackers!

F.Y.I.....If you can't find the ABS glue or MEK, acetone works extremely well as a solvent as well. If your can of ABS cement starts to get hard, add a small amount of acetone, mix well and it's good as new!

Re: Plast-aid Plastic Repair Solution

Would you mind sharing where you purchased the product. Up to now I have used the sacrificial ABS plumbing fitting and acetone which has worked extremely well. Drill holes in it and save the pig tail shavings to add to the acetone. It does take 24 hours to fully "set", but none the less works great.

Re: WTB GL1500 fork brace

Received and installed the brace yesterday. Took a short ride and noticed a difference on my first corner off gravel and on to blacktop at the end of my driveway. My wing seems more responsive and "put together". Running thru stripes on the center line (a no-no i know) I found ten times easier and a...

Re: Neutral story

My opinion is if hap2 would have been able to "rock" the bike just the tiniest bit with the clutch disengaged, the bike could have been shifted into the neutral position, although this may have required somebody to help him. I must say I have never been in that predicament. I never pull tight to a c...
