Re: 96 1500 Goldwing SE Speakers

The 501 would be too large to fit without major modification. The four inch will fit well.

Re: 96 1500 Goldwing SE Speakers

A lot of us are using the Polk Audio DB401 for the rear and DB351 for the front. A little bit of the mounting flange must be snipped off on the 351's to accommodate the mounting screw, but they will fit right in and sound great. I believe these are also weather resistant as were the stock speakers. ...

Assuming you don't want to just change the bulb to the LED type, you will have to gently heat the assembly to soften the adhesive. You can do this with a heat gun or in an oven at very a low temp. Re: Radio

The clear protection cover is all cracked and brittle falling apart on the radio should I remove all of this before I install the new radio decal I have, I hate to see it peel away months from now because I did not do this step. Has anyone else done this. Yes. Remove the old one first. I replaced t...

I picked up mine from WingStuff years ago. They also have units that fit in the saddlebag doors. An eBay search turned up a few but they are either listed wrong (fits GL1800) or used.

If you properly zeroed the meter first by shorting the two test leads together and adjusting the needle to read "0", then the last photo shows an acceptable reading on the top scale.

Re: Why use the radio speakers

It depends on what the guy next to me thinks every one else wants to hear. If he is blasting rap or rancho music, I'll crank up the Mozart. When he's gone I'll dial it down or switch to the helmet speakers. The bike speakers actually sound better than the J&Ms. My helmet speakers seem to be better f...

Re: 1994 Honda Goldwing Intercom, how to use

I had not seen the left cover with key yet as a picture, are optional or of some model ? It is an aftermarket item. You do have to remove the snaps from the pocket and some minor cutting of the pocket is required for the tabs to fit. Mine came with a simple twist latch but you can find key lock kit...

Sadly indoors is not an option at the moment. The colour faded out in the first three months, might just as well bought a black one (I think red was an extra fiver but it looked good at first). Re: While I'm in there ytis(eye-tis)

The lack of sockets in the stock light bar is the reason why I used the strip lights. They are low profile and I only had to drill one hole in the saddle bag door and one into the space under the rear tail light to access the plug.

Re: While I'm in there ytis(eye-tis)

I installed the strip lights in mine. I used a heat gun to soften the mastic so I could pry off the lens. Also, the left fairing side marker was nice enough to fall apart for me so before I glued it back together I put in two rows of them. However... I haven't been able to get the right side apart. ...
