Re: Sei fuel injection

Now that I understand it did work correctly for a few days, I am thinking the exact same thing, I fitted a new filter so that is not blocked, but I suspect there might be a fine filter on the inlet side of the pump that is blocked with crap from the tank. Hope to check this week.

Re: Sei fuel injection

The owner just told me that when the new pump was fitted, the bike ran great for a few days and then started running badly! This was news to me as I had understood it hadn’t run correctly since they resurrected it a few months ago. This new news would really seem to confirm what others have said, it...

Re: Sei fuel injection

Thanks for all the replies, as the engine idles beautifully I figured the injectors must work, but as it won’t rev up I figured they where maybe not flowing enough gas. The fuel pump was installed by a garage, so I will dig out some info and post the details. Is there a low cost way to measure the p...

Re: Sei fuel injection

The owner had a new fuel pump fitted a few weeks ago, so it should be good, it certainly sprays fuel very well when I crack any of the banjo bolts on the fuel line, but I don't have a gauge to check fuel pressure (I assume you cant use a regular tyre pressure gauge, and I don't know what pressure th...

Sei fuel injection

Okay guys, I have my friends trike back together, all the electrics work as Honda intended, the engine starts and idles beautifully, but it will not respond to the throttle, as you open the throttle the revs start to rise and then just drop and the engine stalls. It will start up immediately and idl...

1200 SEI Fuel Filter

gentlemen and Ladies, I am repairing a 1200 SEI goldwing for a friend and we decided to change the fuel filter as we have no idea how old it is. Honda no longer make the fuel filter so we found a FRAM filter that had the same fittings and same length as the original filter, but it has a larger diame...

Re: bulbs in brakelight

Nice idea wingman, but the indicator flashes the high power filament in the dual filament bulb!! It’s been too cold to go work on the bike so I still haven’t had a chance to follow the wiring. A park light seems the most likely, but then why not use the low power filament in the dual filament bulb, ...

Re: Battery Tender Jr.

I have about 6 of the new ones and 5 of the old ones, the only downside I have found to the new units is that they do not seem as impervious to noise on the 110 volt supply. Our main power line to the house was struck by lightning, it damaged a few items, but every one of the new battery tender Jr’s...

Re: bulbs in brakelight

Thanks for the suggestion, they don’t come on with the park position, but I forgot to mention this wing has been triked, so the rear lower lights are part of the trike kit, not from a goldwing, so I will have to trace the wiring and work out what they are connected to.

Thanks Gary

bulbs in brakelight

Gentlemen, as previously mentioned I am fixing a 1200 SEI 1986 goldwing for a friend. I am trying to sort out the electrics and have a simple question!! Inside each brake light there are 2 bulbs, one is a single filament bulb and the other is a twin filament brake light bulb. On this bike the twin f...

Re: 1200 SEI wiring diagram

Hi Dave, I agree, this one has a lot of added extras, but I mainly need the diagram to know what color wire goes where and what the signal is, I can sort it out by tracing each wire, but it will be easier with a wiring diagram, also I want to know which circuits are operated directly by a switch and...

1200 SEI wiring diagram

Ladies & gentlemen, I am fixing up a 1200 for a new friend and we have a few electrical gremlins to fix. I have copies of scanned service manuals which where great for all the mechanical work (new timing belts, fork seals, etc) but the wiring diagrams are all incomplete and of no use to find the iss...

Re: 1200 SEI issues

Thanks for the feedback, I forgot to mention that I drained the entire fuel system, cleaned the tank and refilled with fresh gas and seafoam. I need to find a new fuel filter, I have one that seems like it would fit, but is a larger diameter than the original Honda filter so not sure if there is spa...

1200 SEI issues

Hi Guys, I am working on a 1200 SEI for a friend and wanted to ask for some advice!! Firstly the radiator seems to be leaking, anyone know of a repair company in the Dallas area that might be able to repair it? It seems to be right in the middle of the radiator core.. Secondly this bike is fuel inje...

But he’s taking the shiny (chrome) bits off, so he won’t know which way is up!! :D

Congrats on the new bike, sorry your Dad has decided to stop riding, but I hope you have a great time.

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

As mentioned the intercom can pair with 2 other units, but there is no group mode, you can only speak with one person at a time. It is relatively easy to switch between the 2 other units that you have paired with, but you have to push the orange button to toggle between them, you cannot speak to bot...

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

That's a darn good price. However it looks like the controller unit with the orange button is connected to the speakers and mic. with a wire and does not blue tooth to them. so that would mean I can not mount the controller unit on the dash some place where I can see it unless it's connected with a...

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

I bought the same system and it worked so well between my bike and my wifes, i bought 2 more for my daughters to use, that is when i discovered this system only allows you to pair 3 units together maximum and you do NOT have group intercom, so you can only talk to one person at a time!! For me that ...

Re: changing the timing belts on 84 1200A

This one is an aspencade and the owner has added loads of extra lights around the radiator, air horns and god knows what else, so it has taken ages to get access to the belts. It is now sitting on its center stand ready for me to change the belts, I just need the UPS man to deliver them!! Considerin...

Re: changing the timing belts on 84 1200A

Having just watched the video, this looks extremely easy to me, I will be doing this job this weekend for a friend of mine. I have worked on bikes that are much harder to do!! The biggest nuisance is removing all the bodywork to actually get to the engine!! :D

Re: Goldwing electric motor conversion

I would think that starting with a much lighter motorcycle (than the goldwing) would be a better starting point for this project. The goldwing is a very heavy bike and not a good choice for an electric conversion, the frame and everything was built to handle 100 horsepower, if you are only going to ...

You might also want to tell us what kind of multimeter you are using as it may be that you are not using it correctly? Tell us the model and make and we can suggest how to use it.
