Re: new timing belts

You can always rotate the engine by hand, if you meet some resistance, then you need to stop and find out why, but rotating by hand will not damage anything, unless after you feel some resistance you go and force the rotation, then you might bend things. As stated you have to realign the crank and c...

Re: Radio with a clutch??

I completely agree with wingadmin, you have lost your ground connection to the radio. Either check your wiring and fix the issue, or run a new ground wire from the radio to the chassis or battery negative terminal. I would suggest running a wire first, just to see if it fixes the issue. If it does y...

Re: High speed running problem

As suggested it sounds like your gas tank is not venting correctly, I would try riding it until the problem appears and then open the gas filler cap and see if it suddenly starts running correctly. If it does you need to find why the tank is not venting correctly. If opening the tank doesn’t fix the...

Re: GL1100 head gasket replacement

As no one seems to have given you much advise about the gas in the oil, let me try to explain. The chances are very high that it is your carbs, if they start to leak, fuel will flow through the carb into the float bowl, up the main jet and then start to run down the inlet tract to the inlet valves, ...

Re: Not exactly ATGATT

Well it's all good until something goes wrong, then it's going to be very very painful. I would think operating the rear brake pedal would hurt, mine has a metal edge and when you push on it to apply the brakes it would hurt my foot, guess I am just a wimp!! Hope he doesn't make a regular habit of r...

Re: Cheap (Asian) GPS

On the two wheeled Texan WEB site someone else asked a similar question, they all seemed to get good reviews, only have one map update per year and need some special software to create routes but they seem to work very well. Everyone mentioned that the 5” version is better than the 4” version and se...

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

For me, I agreed with all his points, they are great intercoms and for the price you can’t beat it. However the only disappointment that I had which he never mentioned is the lack of a group intercom feature. On the Sena, if you are more than 2 riders you can all be linked together and talking toget...

Re: 2017 L1 with under 2500 miles making scary noises

Well I would also suspect transmission, sounds like the dogs on one gear are hitting the dogs on another gear, it could also be a camshaft problem, but the speed seemed to high, I would be 80% confident it’s a transmission issue, I would strongly suggest you don’t ride it in case the transmission lo...

Re: 2015 Accessory Fuse Issue

On my wing, the cigarette lighter plug was wired directly to the battery with its own inline fuse. The fuse was located behind the cigarette lighter plug, you have to remove the locking fairing pocket (open the cover using the key, then remove the 2 screws and 2 plastic rivets located at each corner...

Re: bluetooth speakers

I don’t think you will find any that will go loud enough for a bike. My experience with the portable Bluetooth speakers is that they work great for small rooms or even in the garden, but for a bike you are going to want a set that have their own batteries, so you will need to find a way to recharge/...

Re: Sei fuel injection

Well I got it fixed, unfortunately it was due to an incompetent mechanic, when the owner had a mechanic install the new pump, the mechanic used the wrong fittings on the output of the pump and effectively blocked the outlet so no fuel could flow, it was a wonder the bike even started. I changed the ...

Re: Sei fuel injection

Now that I understand it did work correctly for a few days, I am thinking the exact same thing, I fitted a new filter so that is not blocked, but I suspect there might be a fine filter on the inlet side of the pump that is blocked with crap from the tank. Hope to check this week.

Re: Sei fuel injection

The owner just told me that when the new pump was fitted, the bike ran great for a few days and then started running badly! This was news to me as I had understood it hadn’t run correctly since they resurrected it a few months ago. This new news would really seem to confirm what others have said, it...

Re: Sei fuel injection

Thanks for all the replies, as the engine idles beautifully I figured the injectors must work, but as it won’t rev up I figured they where maybe not flowing enough gas. The fuel pump was installed by a garage, so I will dig out some info and post the details. Is there a low cost way to measure the p...

Re: Sei fuel injection

The owner had a new fuel pump fitted a few weeks ago, so it should be good, it certainly sprays fuel very well when I crack any of the banjo bolts on the fuel line, but I don't have a gauge to check fuel pressure (I assume you cant use a regular tyre pressure gauge, and I don't know what pressure th...

Sei fuel injection

Okay guys, I have my friends trike back together, all the electrics work as Honda intended, the engine starts and idles beautifully, but it will not respond to the throttle, as you open the throttle the revs start to rise and then just drop and the engine stalls. It will start up immediately and idl...

1200 SEI Fuel Filter

gentlemen and Ladies, I am repairing a 1200 SEI goldwing for a friend and we decided to change the fuel filter as we have no idea how old it is. Honda no longer make the fuel filter so we found a FRAM filter that had the same fittings and same length as the original filter, but it has a larger diame...

Re: bulbs in brakelight

Nice idea wingman, but the indicator flashes the high power filament in the dual filament bulb!! It’s been too cold to go work on the bike so I still haven’t had a chance to follow the wiring. A park light seems the most likely, but then why not use the low power filament in the dual filament bulb, ...

Re: Battery Tender Jr.

I have about 6 of the new ones and 5 of the old ones, the only downside I have found to the new units is that they do not seem as impervious to noise on the 110 volt supply. Our main power line to the house was struck by lightning, it damaged a few items, but every one of the new battery tender Jr’s...

Re: bulbs in brakelight

Thanks for the suggestion, they don’t come on with the park position, but I forgot to mention this wing has been triked, so the rear lower lights are part of the trike kit, not from a goldwing, so I will have to trace the wiring and work out what they are connected to.

Thanks Gary

Hi Dave, I agree, this one has a lot of added extras, but I mainly need the diagram to know what color wire goes where and what the signal is, I can sort it out by tracing each wire, but it will be easier with a wiring diagram, also I want to know which circuits are operated directly by a switch and...
