Re: Question about battery tester

not familiar with your tester, but if its showing around 14 to 14.5 volts at 3000 rpm, and the battery is good you are good to go. voltage fluctuates normally from idle upwards but shouldn't exceed the 14.5 volts

hope that helps a bit

Re: Fusebox accessory hookup?

the aux screws are normally 5amp but can get changed to 15amp if an alternator kit has been installed. if the cb is an OEM it would normally have its own power source under the left compartment, however if its another then it probably is powered from the aux screws. while the light could be powered ...

Re: Head gasket leaking oil

if it was head gasket the bike wouldnt be running all that well, I suspect it could be two very common leaks one is the valve cover gasket, the other is the cam shaft cover gasket either one a very easy fix

good luck

Re: Leaking antifreeze

anti freeze can leak from several places, upper and bottom hose, water pump, weep hole, radiator failure. the expense to fix, will be related to where the leak is, so find the leak first and go from there.

driving lights give great extra light both day and night, leds in particular. although some can cause problems with audio. if you install holagen driving lights, 35watt aside is about right for our 1200s. as for the H4 headlight bulb, a whiter light is great at night, but I found then tend to wash o...

I have tried full synthetic oil in my 86 aspy and had an awful of trouble with seal leaks, there where warnings about seal leaks in the older bikes when using full synthetic oil but it seems some do experience leaks and some dont. Re: educate me on fork oil viscosity please

Harvey they are progressive springs up front and they are the correct springs and they dont require spacers of any kind. It would appear that the fork oil may be the problem. I have read a lot of folks who went with progressive and used 15 wt oil that it was to rigid/rough of a ride. I'm going to c...
