Re: Radio reception affected by lights

been there with static tried everything I could think of and nothing worked including ferrite chokes. I basically gave up. I recently found the answer. manufactures are slowly coming on board, with the technology installed in the bulbs to stop the static, but its still a bit of buyer beware at the m...

Re: Battery not charging

yep, check for burnt connectors around the rectifier, and around the 30 amp fuse and solenoid. you may need to run a stator check also if doesnt charge after fixing the wiring.

good luck,

Re: GL1200A,front brake master cylinder kit???

well man thats confusing all those parts numer!!!! :-) And what would be my parts number for 84 Aspencade??? gef I would suggest you do some research on the numbers given they will probably all relate to kits for a 1200 goldwing, but unless the information states specifically that it fits a 84 apsy...

Re: GL1200A,front brake master cylinder kit???

I think you may have the wrong OEM number for the kit, this is for a 84 aspy right? the OEM number that I got through cyclemax OEM is 45530-471-831 this coincides with non OEM kit at saber cycle here: https://www.saber-cycle.com/store/product112.html check out my info before carrying on though I may...

Re: GL1200A,front brake master cylinder kit???

I have used the kits from saber cycle, they are not OEM but work fine, have had them in now for a few years, both clutch and front brake. not sure how they compare in price to OEM though.

Re: Coolant leak from weep hole

You have a similar issue to me, I also replaced the water pump, and seals, and ended up with a small leak at the weep hole. It seems its a pretty common problem, whereas if you dont get the seal exactly right, it will leak. the only fix is unfortunately is to take it all to bits again. In saying tha...

Re: Clutch problem

I tried to just bleed the clutch today, and all I did was make it worse... Not sure what is wrong, but I bought a master and slave rebuild kit and the bushing, gonna take it all apart, and clean it all up... that fluid is nasty... so, it needs it. I ain't figured out how to get to the slave to remo...

I am thinking the bushing is a good thought, I ordered one and a rebuild kit for the master, flush it out, bleed, new bushing and I will post back my results, hopefully this weekend.... Thanks guys. when you have the old kit out before installing the new kit, its worth checking the return hole to m...

Re: Clutch problem

I think it could be worth firstly, putting a new kit in the master cylinder, and then new fluid (dot 4) and bleed. if it still plays up, then pull the slave cylinder to check usually though, if its the seals in the slave cylinder it will leak. Bleeding can be a bit of a mission sometimes, to get all...

Re: Adding driving lights to a 1984 GL1200 Aspencade

I added bullet lights (MR16) to my aspy ran 35watt aside hologens through a relay and switch, worked well. Having found an led bulb that doesnt interfere with radio etc, I now run 50watt equivalent led with a draw of about 7watt aside. big difference in lighting and the system handles it well. while...

A product called J B weld seems to be pretty good at repairing abs plastic. Re: Question about battery tester

not familiar with your tester, but if its showing around 14 to 14.5 volts at 3000 rpm, and the battery is good you are good to go. voltage fluctuates normally from idle upwards but shouldn't exceed the 14.5 volts

hope that helps a bit
