Re: Bleeding brakes

There is that plug in the left saddlebag that can be take out then have limited access to the bleeder. Wouldn't recommend it though. Better to take the left saddlebag off the bike to make it easier to see air bubbles and catch fluid.

Re: Lactrical vs Compufire

I'm in Florida, and received mine in a few days as well. They are sent USPS Priority Mail, which usually ends up with delivery in 2-3 days. I was concerned about the CB filter (capacitor) as well, until I did install it, as well as another replacement filter, and found it had NO effect on any noise...

Re: Remove pin strips

Nice bike. Have to admit I am the hypocrit when it comes to custom pinstriped/muraled bikes. I can appreciate people wanting to make the bike there own. And the airbrushed mural scenes are fun to look at. But I wouldn't want that on my own bike I dont think. Would say the shadow would depend on how ...

Mine were 23yrs old when I replaced em and they did look fine. Its cheap insurance to replace em though. They aren't expensive.

Re: Clutch fluid gone

Stores like walmart sell those oil catch pans for around $5 that could fit under the bike I think, easy peasy. Maybe tape measure it.

Re: Clutch fluid gone

Maybe thats not quite the right spot. With the bike up on its centerstand there is surprisingly a little bit of room in there to get the slave cylinder off. Since yours has a sidecar I dunno what to suggest. Possibly low ramp and not pull it all the way up but just enough to get you a little room to...

Re: Do you use a dealer for service?

I'm with you all. Don't trust dealers and dont let them work on anything outside of warantee and then I double check that they didn't do something poorly. With the help of advice and all the howto guides have been able to muddle thru anything my bike needs. For tires I've been taking them to a local...

Re: Shorty windshield

Love my Phase Change cooling vest . It keeps me cool and comfortable, wearing full ATGATT, in the hottest weather. I have one that goes around my neck as well that I wear in the summer cutting the lawn as well. :) I need to check this out. I hate not going full ATGATT when its hot! I think thats wh...

Re: Alternator Bolt Housing broken :(

I realize you’re in the UK but how about eBay? I got one for about $40 on eBay. In very good shape. But what ever you do, removing the rear case is a pain. I’m starting next week to put it back together Good luck Bud Good suggestion! Or maybe google to see if any bike salvage yards are near you.

Re: Gasoline stink after running

The gas smell is probably normal. Mine does that too. The gas cap is vented. And my garage stinks like gas after parking. :D Next time you can't start the bike back up try opening the gas cap to relieve pressure and then start the bike. If that works then your gas cap may be partially clogged and yo...

Re: 1st Time Goldwing Owner

Sorry about your friends health and congrats on your new Goldwing. You'll love it. Changing belts a good idea (mainly due to rubber belts and aging). But dont think that has anything to do with off idle stumble. The off idle stumble sounds normal for a bike thats been sitting. Its good the carbs are...

Re: Shorty windshield

If you adjust your windwhield so the top is about level with the bridge of your nose you should be able to find a sweet spot where your dont get helmet buffet but you can look over the windshield but also be able to tuck your head just slightly and look thru the windshield when need be. Sometimes on...

Re: what strength loctite to use

Antiseize is best but if you really need to use Loctite the blue is mean to be removable with just tools. Red is meant to require heating before you can remove. Red is wicked stuff and has its use. But I never use it, at least on things that I hope to take apart and service later on. I dont even use...

Might be possible to find them on ebay used. The headlight knob isn't too expensive and you might like a chrome one. The badge I dunno about.

Wikipedia isn't specific other than motorcycles started getting built there in 1979 and ceased in 2009. Saw another source that said Wings started getting built there in 1981. A shame but maybe inevitable seeing how motorcycle sales hasn't rebound since. I kind of remember Honda sold Goldwings up to...

Re: Replacing bulbs in trunk side lights

There are 4 screws to remove the trunk bottom. It swings down and you can pull it back and away from the bike. Just be careful its a little fiddly removing and installing. Just take your time. 2 bolts hold each side reflector on. Inside the trunk you will see them. When I replaced mine I had to buy ...
