Re: Blackwing Fork brace Installtion

Installed mine same time I got new tires so got rid of a wobble problem so I was very happy with the ride. If you noticed that your forks were mushy and now they are like a sport bike then my guess would be the forks are binding.

Re: THINGS TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING A USED 1800

Some 07s also had transmission issues with the ghost shifting issue. If you can get a test ride get the bike out and just see what its like shifting from 4th to 5th and see what its like when you open it up in 5th. This issue didnt affect a lot of the bikes but you dont want to get stuck with an ex...

Re: Best LED Headlight Retrofit

Will do. Last time I rode into work early in the morning my HIDs must have been weak because they didn't seem very bright. Hoping to see a difference in the dark. Thunderstorms moving in so will have to wait for that ride. You were right the LED temp matches the foglights/position lights real good. :D

I take it that no one has experience with the quad load balancer.
Is that an upgrade from the Flux Capacitor in the Delorean?

Re: Re-installing cooling fans on 92 wing se

I was looking for a coolant leak. All hoses looked like they were replaced, they were in great shape. I had a leak from the thermostat gasket. Replaced it. Replaced the cross tube. It was hard and brittle. I recommend replacing the cross tube clamps with a screw clamps. Had some leaks from loose ho...

Re: Re-installing cooling fans on 92 wing se

Aside from removing the radiators is there anything else that needs to be removed or disconnected for this job? I'm assuming you replaced the radiator hoses or maybe had a coolant leak you were trying to fix?

I've got everything but new hose clamps and that crossover hose for the top of the rads.

Re: New to this Forum

Would agree with everybody. But I think that most parts are still available for 1500's. There are very few pieces that I went to buy that were obsoleted. I just ordered both radiator hoses and any related oem rubber bits that hold the rads in place. Boy oem parts are expensive from Honda. :D Althoug...

Re: H6M replacement with LED recommendation?

I went with ones from cyclemax. Very bright, very white. :D I got mine from Cyclemax also and am very pleased with them, but he said he has a non standard cornering light with an H6M bulb. Not sure what a H6M bulb is but it may not fit the same as what came on the Aspencade. I dont know what an H6M...

Our bikes are old and plastics can get brittle. I think there are still parts sold on this site. Maybe you can pick up another set of lowers and try to repaint them.

Re: Replacing Exhaust Pipes

Choices are limited. I think maybe Cobra makes replacement pipes but I dont think they are as quiet. some people try to buy used pipes off fleabay or the forums. And some others buy used harley touring pipes and did a custom install. They are supposed to have a low rumble to them. If you buy OEM lat...

Re: Fog light bulbs

I have the LED bulbs for both the position lights (on either side of headlight) and the lower running lights on my 2000 SE. Also have the SoCal Pathfinder LED headlights and they all look good together. The light output is very close to the same color which is a bright white light. I got all mine f...

Re: Death wobble

Wobbles can be frustrating but usually cureable. Could be air pressures or cupped tires or other possibilities. Head or swingarm bearings. Its one of those process of elimnation kinds of thing. When I first bought my bike (possibly 3rd owner) it had a bad wobble. Both tire pressures were low and the...

Re: Strong gas smell on shutdown

Bike runs fine and steady at all speeds, short and long distances. I noticed that the pressure builds up more in the tank when the fuel level is low. It's always low when I get home, so the pressure is up, so I think maybe the fuel cap is slowly letting the pressure decrease, thus the smell of gas ...

They do seem too tight and impossible to get loose. But once you loosen up the adjuster and just fiddle with them they come right out.

Re: Problem with playing cassettes

Tried a TRS to TRRS convertor and also tried a bluetooth dongle both failed. I did get very weak audio and the more I increased the volume on the radio the more feint the sound got. Pretty sure my connections were ok. So I guess next step is to try one of those iSimple.

Re: Problem with playing cassettes

Happytrails - Yes, you do. The box is quite small, about half the size of a deck of cards. On a GL1500, at least, it just sits under the seat & doesn't need to be secured. That's a handy place for it, too, as there's an antenna cable connector right under the seat. You disconnect the cable there, a...

Re: Problem with playing cassettes

I tried using an FM transmitter (actually, 3 different ones), but found I had to change channels every minute or two due to interference from FM stations, welders, power tools, etc., to the extent that it was completely unworkable. In the end, I bought a basic-level iSimple unit. It, too, uses FM s...
