Re: Cornering light

I don't like the idea of soldering across the terminals because that is more load on the alternator and battery that the rest of the bile really needs. I think you misunderstood, he is only suggesting shorting the pins on the bulb that has a failed filament so the other filament lights up, there wi...

Re: Tilt sensor Bypassed Permenently ??

If it is still on the road the recall is still active, because this is a safety issue. Have your local dealer check the VIN and if it has not been done they will order the part and fix it for no charge.

Re: Do you use a dealer for service?

If you have a Cycle Gear store near, they will mount and balance a tire for $20.00. At least here in Jacksonville, Florida they will. I have had good success with them for tires. I just take it off and take it to them and can usually wait for it. Russell Those who say it cannot be done should try no...

Re: Tilt sensor Bypassed Permenently ??

The 88 to 93 models had a Bank Angle Sensor recall so, check the VIN with your local dealer and if it hasn't had the recall done they will order the part and do the recall for free. The recall is a safety issue so, if the bike is still on the road it is still in effect. I just had mine replaced rece...

Without reading 30 pages of posts on the trigger wheel, what is it? Is it like advancing the cam on an engine?
No, it advances the ignition timing.

Re: Saddle Bag Cornering Lights

But, those are not cornering lights. They are turn signals and should have amber light bulbs in them.
The only reason for white lights on the rear of any vehicle is for back-up lamps.

Re: Relay wiring

The white plug looks like cornering light connector. And the red plug, I think, is the connector for the headset plug.
I can't say about the green connector unless it is for the CB radio.

Re: Saddle Bag Cornering Lights

Never saw cornering lights in the saddlebags. Where do they fit and where can you find them? My 92 Interstate has the cornering lights in the lower front fairing and have been modified with super bright LED lights that are on like front 'parking lights' or 'daytime running lights' with the ignition ...

Re: Shorty windshield

Replace with a standard windshield and put a vent in it. They work pretty good. And try some wind wings as well. There are several different styles. One might do what you need.

Re: re-painting a radiator?

You are correct about putting too much paint on the radiators. It will impede the heat transfer process. Talk to a radiator expert and find out what kind of paint to use. Some kinds of paint will not last on radiators. You could get the right kind of paint and thin it substantially to use an airbrus...

Re: Hazard flasher question

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere or maybe a dirty flasher switch. Check all your turn bulbs and make sure someone has not replaced one with the wrong type of bulb, causing feedback through the system.

Re: Blackwing Fork Brace - Screw sizes

Just a thought; You could take the screws to your local home improvement store, the equivalent of our Home Depot or Lowes, and they should have a guide to try the screws that fit the original threads on the forks, to find the correct size and thread pitch. Then you could match them up with some flat...

GL1500 Water Pump

When looking at Partzilla.com I see that for my 92 GL1500 Interstate there are three different water pumps. 19200 MY4 000 19200 MY4 010 19200 MY4 020 They are all the same price, $144.45 but, they don't explain the difference and I don't want to get the wrong one. Re: do I have a dead battery or ?

Sounds like a bad connection on your battery. Check all the connections on both cables. Clean and tighten to be sure. If it cranks over but doesn't start up you may have another bad connection at the fuse box, or, possibly a relay that is going bad. Or maybe a loose connection under the kill switch....

Re: Turn Signal Problem. . . .

Great! Moisture almost always causes oxidation of the connector pins. That, in turn, causes corrosion, high resistance, then heat that will cause the burning within the connector. If only Mother Honda had coated the connectors with dielectric grease and the owners had added a little each time the co...
